Limon began as a travel series created by Lili in high school, which evolved into a startup with her brother, Ramon.

After years of iterating, Lili and Ramon realized travel is best shared through real voices, not just curated photos. Their research proved a common thread among travelers:

What is the most efficient way to consume travel recommendations from people you trust? Travel itineraries. However, this posed another problem:

TAM: All global leisure travelers using digital tools to plan or share trips

~2 billion global leisure travelers who use digital tools for trip planning and content sharing. This represents virtually all age groups with travel activity and smartphone/internet access – a massive user base driven by widespread technology adoption and a $5 trillion+ travel industry (BCG).

Digital content now influences the travel plans of roughly 65% of people worldwide (TNMT), underscoring that nearly 2 billion potential users are reachable via online platforms.

SAM: Use travel apps to book trips

~850 million people used a travel app in 2023 alone. This is the segment of the TAM that Limon can realistically target, given the platform functionality we have (Business of Apps).

80% of global travelers feel it's important to be able to book their trips entirely online (travelperk).

This indicates ~680 million tech-savvy travelers in Limon’s immediate reach.

SOM: Our 5-year goal based on user growth

~9.6 million users (≈1.4% of SAM) generating ~$100M in annual revenue by Year 5, based on an assumed ARPU of $10.74. This SOM reflects the realistic share Limon aims to capture in five years.

Achieving ~9–10 million users (out of 680M+ SAM) equates to a modest ~0.5% of the TAM, highlighting that Limon’s $100M revenue goal is credible without needing dominant market penetration. For context, travel social platforms like Polarsteps have reached 15 million users globally by 2025 (Polarsteps), demonstrating that our 5-year user target is attainable. Limon’s Year-5 SOM would deliver significant revenue while still scratching the surface of a vast market, underscoring enormous room for growth beyond the initial 5-year horizon.

"Starting in May of 2016, thanks to a new law called Regulation Crowdfunding, it became legal for everyone to invest small amounts of money in the startups they believed in. From 1933 to 2016, investing in a private company was illegal unless you were an “accredited investor” (i.e., wealthy)."
