DENIFLUENCER 2 Horror Thriller Film

So what is DEINFLUENCER?

Deinfluencer is a 2022 horror thriller film directed by Jamie Bailey and produced by Simon Phillips. It's an anti-social media themed film where the antagonist makes social media influences jump through a lot of hoops just to survive the night. The film was a much bigger hit then we expected! But why tell you when I can show you:

OK OK... Give me the facts, how successful was it?

We sold through, and are still selling, to 18 countries straight off the bat. We made 150% return for the investors, and all within 14 months from money in to money returned. The film even had a theatrical release in several regions. We normally allow 18 months - but the straight to stream distribution nature has sped up our delivery and recoupment cycles, and we predict this film will start returning within 12 months due to the advanced nature of the production.

SO WHAT'S THE PLOT FOR THE NEXT FILM?

Our deinfluencer has returned, but this time he hasn't kidnapped just one social media influencer, he's imprisoned 7 of them for some biblical level revenge. They must work together in a race against "social media likes" on some gruesome challenges. But Kelly, a Murder Mystery podcaster, is actually an FBI undercover agent tasked with being clickbait for Deinfluencer... but is there more going on than she knows?

MORE ABOUT OUR PRODUCTION MODEL?

In our ever evolving industry we're leaning into a reverse engineering process on what films to produce and more importantly the budget at which to execute them so that investors see a good return. The goal here would to eventually fund a slate of films all at a low budget level, and effectively spread bet across the whole slate of films. The Deinfluencer franchise can help launch us into that process. All investors into this first project will be given priority access to the planned stage 2 in 2025.

Looking at data for low budget films you can clearly see Horror as a genre is a better bet then most:


But what's also something we employ is somewhat of a hybrid system when it comes to distribution. This means we use both our own connections, existing self publishing platforms for certain global regions, and Sales Distribution agencies to maximize revenue.

SIMON PHILLIPS (Actor, Producer & Writer)

Simon Phillips is an award winning British actor, probably best known Netflix show FUBAR with Arnold Schwarzenegger and The Witcher Season 3. He has also cited and won awards for his gruesome portrayal of Santa Claus in Christmas Horror features Once Upon A Time At Christmas and The Nights Before Christmas. His Feature film Butchers, garnered high praise from The Guardian Newspaper stating "It's Phillips' performance that keeps the film's pulse going. His Owen is exhilarating unpredictable, alternating between moments of meticulous villainy and sheer lunacy - one moment he will be refitting a spooky music box while eyeing his oblivious prey, next he will be whacking his victim bloodily, channeling a kind of biblical righteousness that makes him slippery, fascinating and, most importantly, terrifying to watch." He has appeared in feature films with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Mark Hamill, Robert Englund, Rutger Hauer, Richard E. Grant, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, John Malkovich and Mel Gibson.


JAMIE BAILEY (Director, Editor and DOP)

Jamie 's first feature was “This Was America”. The film is now streaming on Amazon Prime around the world. He created, produced and directed the business talk show “The Next Biggest Winner”. The show aired nationally across Canadian Television for two seasons in primetime (30 x 46 episodes) on Ichannel.

His feature documentaries entitled "Blank Slate" and “Firestarter” were released in 2020 & 2019 on national broadcast television and on Amazon Prime. Jamie is also the co-producer and director of photography on a number of upcoming series including "Age of the Living Dead" season 2 (on FXX and Amazon Prime), “Killing the Cure” (30 x 7 episodes) and “ELE”. “ELE” is a ground breaking 6 part x 1 hour sci-fi thriller. Each episode was shot in one take without any digital stitching.

For over a decade he has worked on his original TV & Film concepts in partnership with Dystopian Films, Breakthrough Entertainment, Gala Films, Tricon Films and Buck Productions. In addition to television and film production, Jamie also creates numerous television commercials and corporate videos for many clients. He was previously the co-founder and president of Metaphoria Productions Inc., a Toronto based commercial and television production company.

Earlier in his career, Jamie was the founder and president of Fresh Productions Inc., which he started in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2003. The company produced print, radio and TV commercials for clients such as Holiday Inn, Rogers and the Canadian Breast Cancer foundation.


MICHAEL W. GRAY ( Executive Producer)

Michael W. Gray is a TV/film producer & writer/director working under his Relentless Filmz banner. Michael broke onto the scene with the acclaimed mixed martial arts documentary, FIGHTVILLE. FIGHTVILLE premiered at the 2011 South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival in Competition and immediately secured distribution in the U.S. and around the world. Anchored with a well-publicized SHOWTIME NETWORKS deal, it was the #1 independent film on iTunes for a run, and has played on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and around the world. Michael has followed this success with the 2013 TriBeCa Film Festival premiere of A BIRDERS GUIDE TO EVERYTHING starring Oscar Winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley. Birders was an audience favorite, with a successful release with Focus Features for a theatrical run, and a robust streaming release that included STARZ and global distribution. Other festival notables for Michael include 2014 Sundance Film Festival competition film JAMIE MARKS IS DEAD with Liv Tyler, Judy Greer and Cameron Monaghan. Also, 2015 Slamdance Competition film BODY, released by Oscilloscope Labs and Archstone, 2016 South by Southwest (SXSW) competition film LONG NIGHTS SHORT MORNINGS was released by Sony’s The Orchard for a US and multiple country release. Other notable releases include HERE ALONE (TriBeCa Film Festival Audience Award Winner and Vertical for global distribution), LIGHT OF THE MOON (SXSW Competition then Imagination for global distribution). WHAT BREAKS THE ICE a coming of age thriller with Netflix megastars, Madeline Cline and Sofia Hublitz.

 

In addition to the above, Michael has been a consultant for Avalon Ventures spinoff Cowboy+Cougar Entertainment with several high profile media investments in television, live film, theater and premium cable. Michael via his 2112 Ventures shingle, consulted on equity financing models for So Undercover, Lemon, IDES of MARCH and more and provided post production consulting to high profile films including Men In Black 3, Premium Rush, and The Departed.
