We visited Ghana, West Africa for the first time in 2019 and went back two more times before the end of the year. We fell in love with the place and the people. Since then we've had an interesting journey, and we've only just begun.
On our first visit to Ghana, an acquaintance here in the States introduced to his acquaintance in Ghana. We had no idea at the time that he had the expertise and background needed for what we desired to do. Now we have a trusted crew on the ground who has worked diligently to ensure that this project is a success.
Our Ghana Crew met with the local community elders to facilitate the protocols of the region. These are things as foreigners we would normally not know to do or have access to, but are absolutely essential to the long term success of the project.
We also flew into Ghana for a project update meeting.
It cannot be overstated that to have a successful project in Ghana, it must be an inclusive business model that strongly considers the needs of the community. It was important to us for the community to understand our passion is not exploiting the land or the people, but one of partnership that is a win-win for all.
Here we are in Ghana along with our team meeting with the chief and the community...
We purchased 500 acres of land to start the project. The soil has been tested to determine the best crops, and we're now preparing for the next step which is clearing the land.
