Thanks for the question Jason. A direct comparison between Zinger/Zoomer (both of which have tiny drive wheels) and ABBY is like comparing apples to oranges. ABBY comes with ONE 36V10AH battery pack - the main pack goes into the armrest on the same side the controller is installed in (left or right, selected at time of ordering). The opposite armrest (non-controller side) has an empty cavity where a SECOND spare 36V10AH pack can be stored. Each pack takes 4.5 hours to charge fully from empty and when full provides around 25 miles of range for a 180lb user. Hi Joseph - we're working on 5 provisionals that pertain to quick-release motors, brake actuation, the smart controller, and our implementation for smart-pushrim power-assist. We design & test to ISO7176 tho as a Personal Electric Vehicle, we're not intending ABBY for medical use /restricted to seated position out of the gate. Good morning everyone. Why is the chair listed as a Personal Electric Vehicle and not as a medical device (wheelchair)? Is that because there isn’t an FDA Classification for the device yet? If so, how far along is the progress to win approval for any level? 11.Oct.22

Hi Martin thanks for the question. We design & test ABBY to ISO7176 standards for safety & performance and in the factory we are currently building we will have all the ramp, drop test, vibration test, test dummy and other equipment and each unit will be tested for conformity. We plan to launch ABBY as a Personal Electric Vehicle out of the gate however and pursue class II medical device clearance for a variant of ABBY in the future.
