Question 1

What is the difference between this app and Plei?

Accepted Answer

Hi Jeffrey! Great question. Plei is a good product and they deserve credit for proving there's real demand for organized pickup in the United States. The honest answer is that we only overlap on one thing, pickup games, and that's a small part of what Fanaty does. Beyond that we're two different products, in four main ways: 1. Video is the core of the product, not a feature. Our cameras record the games at the sports facility, and afterward players get AI highlights, individual and team stats...

Question 2

What is the exit plan (acquisition, IPO, merger, etc.) in which investors will be able to see a ROI?

Accepted Answer

Hi Julian! Fair question. Our focus right now is building a company worth owning for the long run, not optimizing for a quick exit. Part of that is being serious about the path to profitability rather than treating it as something that happens someday: unit economics that work at the facility level, hardware that has to pay for itself, and growth we can actually fund. We've modeled where that goes across conservative and optimistic scenarios, not just the good ones. A company that stands on i...

Question 3

Hi Federico — I really like Fanaty’s approach of using the camera network and video experience as a way to build a broader recreational sports marketplace. As Fanaty expands the booking side of the platform, what early signs are you seeing that existing users and facility part...

Accepted Answer

Hi Glenn, great question. One nuance on the framing: we don't see it as a transition from video to marketplace. It's the combination. The camera is what's proven: it gets us thousands of new registered players every month with no marketing spend, and it's what pays the bills today. So the growth engine is expanding that network (more fields, more facilities, more markets), and match bookings are the layer we activate on top of each field as we go, not a separate bet. Early signs: bookings jus...

Question 4

Hi Federico — thanks for the detailed response. One other thing I’m curious about is Fanaty’s long-term defensibility. Since other sports-tech companies could potentially develop and install camera systems at facilities, how do you think about Fanaty’s moat as the company scal...

Accepted Answer

Hi Glenn, thanks. The camera itself is hardware, and it took us years to get it right, but it's not the moat on its own. The moat is everything it builds: the software that turns a game into highlights, the exclusive multi-year agreements with the best fields in each city, 50,000+ players who joined through a friend's highlight, and the fact that we bring real value to the club: more players, fuller fields, less admin. A facility that has all of that working has no reason to walk away from it...

Question 5

Appreciate you making that fix! looking into jumping in but from an investment standpoint, the most important question is, how do investors get paid? Apologies if this is already explained on your overview page, but I like to hear it from the horse's mouth if you will. Also, a...

Accepted Answer

Thanks, Kent. Great questions, and happy to answer them directly. How investors get paid: This round is a SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) with a $7M valuation cap. You don't get shares right away. Your investment converts into equity when we raise a priced round, at the cap price or better, so early investors get more shares per dollar than the new investors in that round. The main potential path to a return is a liquidity event, like an acquisition or an IPO. We don't have dividend...
