The company's website says that the minimum investment is $35k. Does that mean users can own a portion of the house (like Crowdstreet) and receive rent pro-rata, or is the $35k just the minimum down payment?

The average cost of our homes are ~180k so a 20% downpayment is around $35k. You are however welcome to purchase a home with others as we've seen many customers do with friends or family.

Will you increase limits?

In order to allow more members of the community participate in our round, we set a max investment limit. We probably won't increase it this time, but are open to larger checks in the future.

Great question! Roofstock is more a marketplace: they connect buyers and sellers, and can connect customers with a property manager. They provide the necessary tools, but the customer still has to go and do it themselves. Because Doorvest does everything in-house, the processes can be controlled and we deliver an overall lighter lift experience. . Thank you! We generate revenue two fold currently: (1) 5% cut of the sales price (2) 10% of rents. One part of the business I'm particularly proud of is that currently 18% of our customers have purchased a second home with us with 86% expressing interest - as we begin to deliver on the repeat business, the customer lifetime value is expected to increase.
