I have no patience for those who spend more time thinking about an apocalypse rather than how to make their lives better in the coming year. That being said, I was a Boy Scout, so I embody the notion of: "Be prepared". Since we live in the Pacific Northwest, our two biggest potential hazards are a significant seismic event, or a catastrophic fire storm. I am prepared for both. What are YOUR local hazards? Are you prepared for them? Or will you be a... statistic?
My biggest challenge...
As a self-discovered Aspie, I have grown to understand where I am on the autism spectrum. There are some gifts: I have "non neurotypical" abilities that I regularly use to "see" invisible possibilities, make non-obvious connections that create opportunities, and build large systems that deliver significant value. However, as I've said to my children: "Superman can fly, but he also has to deal with Kryptonite". I understand my Kryptonite (you don't need to know the details) and deal with it on a daily basis.
I want to invest in...
Practical projects that improve the human condition. In my mind, "practical" means the typical instantiation is a functional business that delivers value and generates positive cash flow using fair-market economics, thus ensuring the project is self-sustaining.
I can be most helpful at...
Spreading the amazing scientific findings about how we can radically improve lives by understanding and adopting knowledge and practices from neuroscience.
I think we can fix America by...
We should instill the notion of a "common wealth" as the sum of the individual wealth we attain along with the shared community assets we all need to survive and thrive. We should formally eliminate the notion of political parties and adopt public budgets for candidates who reach specified performance threshold(s). We should radically tax inherited wealth, so we avoid the class stratification which we are currently jeopardized with. Yes, I ended a sentence with a preposition. And yes, that means the wealth I've already created should be fairly taxed -- for the benefit of the commonwealth. I'm not worried about that at all, because I know I will always create more. That's just what I do.
My most influential mentor is...
I am autodidactic. Thus, I am indebted to every book I have read, every author who has invisibly sat next to me, and every library that has fostered my explorations.

Curious how well the companies have done? Or how many raised follow-on financing?
Some fine print: 1) These numbers include startups currently live on Wefunder if they pass their minimum target. 2) Some startups use two different laws at the same time (i.e., Regulation D and Regulation Crowdfunding).
