My Crohn's Disease Story

This is personal for me. I’ve battled severe Crohn’s disease for the past 14 years, losing over half of my digestive tract, including my entire colon, rectum, and part of my small intestine to Crohn's. I've had a total of 12 abdominal and anal surgeries, including living with an ileostomy bag for over 3 years. I currently have a Jpouch, but due to my lack of intestines I sometimes use the bathroom over 20 times a day, which can cause a tremendous amount of irritation and inflammation down there.

Over the course of my disease progression, I've dealt with countless perianal issues like fissures, fistulas, abscesses, anal inflammation, butt burn, and hemorrhoids. I've had to rely on anal ointments everyday just to minimize the pain. These OTC solutions I've leaned on for symptom management leave much to be desired: they’re outdated, ineffective, unappealing, and the formulations are suboptimal. And in my journey for an all-in-one solution, I've realized although I'm an outlier with a severe case, I’m far from alone.
