Let's Roll: Join the Ride of a Lifetime with Bunch Bikes!

Our raise has closed! Bunch fam, you are a POWERHOUSE. We're so grateful for your support, proud of what we've achieved together and excited to get to work - building the future of family biking!

Hi, I’m Aaron, the founder of Bunch Bikes. You might remember me from Shark Tank as the middle school band teacher - turned cargo bike entrepreneur!

After 8 years in business, Bunch Bikes is going strong. We're proud to serve thousands of families across the US and Canada with a family cargo bike that's reliable, roomy and versatile enough to replace most car trips. We're sustainable and profitable with an unbeatable reputation and a passionate community.

So, what's next? Right now, I see a golden moment of opportunity for us to make some bold moves, grow our business and our mission - and lead the cargo bike boom that's coming.

I'm inviting you to join me, own a piece of Bunch Bikes - and invest in the electric vehicle of the future.

The ebike boom is here - and the cargo bike boom is coming.

In Europe, "mamafietsen" (mom bikes) are everywhere. In the US, we see hotspots developing in New York City, Washington, DC, Santa Monica and more - with cargo bikes parked at every preschool, playground and pediatrician's office. In these neighborhoods, every parent understands "why cargo bike" and sales are fast and hot.

Outside of those areas, 95% of our market is still totally untapped, not yet familiar with ebikes or the cargo bike concept. Like electric cars in the 2000s, electric cargo bikes are still fairly rare in the US and Canada but gathering momentum for the decade ahead.

Our design is inspired by the classic Dutch bike, which I first experienced when I visited Sweden with my family back in 2016. (Read more in "How it started" below!)

This "front trike" style is much easier to ride than a two-wheeled cargo bike - especially for less confident or less aggressive cyclists. It offers more cargo space for folks with bigger families, babies, adult passengers, and big dogs. Because it's stable on its own, it's also a great solution for passengers and primary riders with medical, adaptive or mobility needs.

We are the clear category leader in a market sweet spot - with huge growth potential, and very little real competition.

We're already changing lives for families across the United States and Canada. Over 8 years, we've fine-tuned our bikes and our ecosystem to make biking for transportation easier, safer, more reliable and more convenient than ever before.

We're ready to make big moves, take the lead, scale our business and bring about a revolution in sustainable transportation.

So let me take you on a journey—a journey that started with a simple desire to solve a problem for my family and evolved into a mission to normalize cargo biking in North America.

How It Started

In 2016, my wife and I were expecting our second child. I was a bike commuter and loved riding my daughter around on the back of my road bike, but I knew we would need a safer and more practical solution for our growing family.

Fond memories taking bike rides with my daughter, before we had a Bunch Bike.

That summer, we took a holiday trip to Sweden, where 3 wheeled box bikes were everywhere. We rented one and instantly fell in love with the Scandinavian cargo bike life.

I told my wife, “We have to get one of these for our family.” But when we got back home to Texas, I realized these incredible vehicles were virtually impossible to find in the United States.

I moonlighted in ecommerce and had already created and then sold off one successful business. That company made a nice profit for my family, but it wasn’t a passion for me. I knew that teaching wasn’t right for me for the long term, either. I was looking for the next opportunity, and at this moment, it all fell into place.

I realized there had to be many other parents like me - eager for a more active lifestyle, and searching for something safe, reliable and easy for the whole family.

Cargo biking was a huge untapped market. It was also a chance to make the world a better place.

I cashed in my chips, found a manufacturing partner overseas and received the first Bunch Bike prototype in 2017 - five days before my son was born.

My son’s first Bunch Bike ride at 5 days old! He just turned 8 years old and has enjoyed a ride in a Bunch Bike nearly every day of his life.

I knew immediately that I was on to something big. Every time I rode around the neighborhood, I had families stopping me to ask about the bike and take pictures.

I started sharing about the bike on Instagram, launched our website (with my son strapped into the Ergo while I typed) and quickly sold our entire first batch of bikes on preorder, before the parts had even arrived stateside.

I made my first hire – that’s Elliot, who’s still leading our product team now – and signed a lease on a warehouse. We also quickly got to work improving quality and reliability on our bikes. We transitioned to a premium manufacturing partner that we still use today - production costs were a lot higher, but consistency and quality were where we needed them to be and that was (and remains) the priority.

Our new factory leverages cutting-edge automation and robotics to ensure excellent quality in every Bunch Bike we build.

The "Pandemic and Shark Tank" Era

March 2020 was a scary time for Bunch Bikes as for the rest of the country and the world. Our supply chain ground to a halt. At this time, the very first investors joined our company - my mom and my sister both invested some of their savings to help me cover payroll.

The good news was that with families desperate to get outside together, bike sales quickly skyrocketed. Within a few weeks, we went from “Help us keep our doors open” to “We can’t keep enough inventory on the shelf!”

This was when we made it onto Shark Tank.

The audition process was intense - so was the 14 day solo quarantine in a 10x10 hotel room. But it was absolutely worth it. I closed a deal with Barbara Corcoran, who has been a wonderful and very supportive partner. Robert Herjavec ended up joining her investment - and he and Daymond John both got Bunch Bikes for their own families!

Another huge benefit was raising awareness. Even five years later, we still hear from folks who learned about cargo bikes from a Shark Tank rerun or an update segment.

Shark Tank was a fork in the road. After this point, it wasn’t just me and my family - I’m responsible to our stakeholders not only to keep taking great care of our customers, but to keep growing our business too.

Growing Pains

At that time we were doubling sales every couple months. I hired a larger team, brought in a new product line, and rented a bigger space in anticipation of what looked like hockey stick growth to come. Toward late 2022, as the national bike frenzy faded, I had to admit we’d gotten a little too big for our britches.

We scaled our team way back, streamlined our processes, tightened our focus – and make sure we were healthy, profitable and sustainable even if our sales stayed exactly the same. That was a very painful reckoning for our business, but it also helped us build a stronger foundation for steady, controlled growth.

Future projections are not guaranteed.

In 2025, frequent tariff changes are disrupting global trade for everyone in the ebike industry, and beyond. This time we anticipated the risk. Ahead of the 2024 election, I began working with our current manufacturing partners and visiting new potential partners worldwide to evaluate our options, diversify our supply chain and give us more flexibility long term.

What's next?

Last summer we launched the Bunch Bike 4+ model - the only UL-2849 certified family cargo trike in America. We supersized our braking system, upgraded our weight ratings and created a more sensitive, intuitive assist system. It’s our best bike yet, and families are loving it - but there’s still work to do.

We're incredibly excited about our next generation bike, currently in development. Our 2026 model will be more powerful and more reliable than ever - designed to address the pain points that still exist for what we now know is our core customer base. We're building the best bike for families - who need a primary vehicle for everyday, practical transportation!

We've got some patent pending products in the pipeline - including a revolutionary new baby transport system that's unlike anything currently on the market.

Our customer base continues to grow, and so does our advocacy network. The Bunch Squad now numbers more than 300 active members who sign up to give test rides, answer questions, advocate for family biking, and even organize local events and bike buses.

To date, almost all of our growth has been organic. We do very little advertising, relying largely on word of mouth. We'd like to invest more capital in digital marketing, reaching beyond our community to families that are brand new to the ebike and cargo bike market.

This year we're also expanding beyond our roots in DTC (online sales) to add some retail and rental channels! We’re proud to announce an exclusive new partnership with Pedego Electric Bikes, the nation’s largest network of ebike shops. This expansion increases Bunch’s brand footprint to physical locations. An active, widespread rental network also makes it much easier and lower risk for families to experience the cargo bike life for themselves - after all, that’s how I fell in love with cargo bikes myself!

We’re also testing partnerships with a wide range of other outlets that align well with our values and our vibe - including baby boutiques, cargo bike shops, and travel and vacation services.

Our outreach goal is simple: to give as many families as possible that first, lifechanging experience of electric cargo bike joy.

In 2017, few people had even heard of an e-bike. Within the industry, ebikes were often referred to as “cheating!” Today we see commuters around the country using ebikes to replace short car trips and experiencing the benefits to their health, their wallets, the environment and their peace of mind.

While ebike awareness has grown, the majority of Americans still haven't had the opportunity to ride an ebike themselves - much less an electric cargo bike.

The future I see for North America is one where family biking is common and celebrated. Where plenty of parents at every school decide to skip the car line and ride to school instead... take the cargo bike to the grocery store to stock up for the week... or go for a family joyride together in the fresh air.

Bunch Bikes is ready to lead - and we're inviting you to join the ride!

Why Invest in Bunch Bikes?

  1. We’re already profitable. After years of growth and reinvestment, we’ve hit profitable EBITDA and have been running a healthy, sustainable business since 2023 with a passionate community driving our movement forward.
  2. We’re expanding into hundreds of retail stores — unlocking national visibility and in-person access.
  3. We’re innovating fast. New product development is underway to deepen our leadership in family-focused biking.
  4. We’ve de-risked our supply chain. We've proactively built backup sourcing options beyond China to reduce tariff exposure and improve resilience.
  5. We’re riding a massive market shift. The e-bike market is projected to grow 2x over the next five years.

This is a chance to invest in a business that’s proven, values-driven, and positioned to scale.

Our mission isn’t just to sell bikes, it’s to redefine family transportation in the U.S.

From my family to yours - thank you for investing in Bunch Bikes, and the future of sustainable transportation!
