Airworthiness.

No certification and no pilot license required initially. Only compliance.

Model A Ultralight and Model Zero Ultralight are classified as Ultralight Aircraft. Ultralight aircraft do not require certification or a pilot license, only compliance.

In 2023 we received FAA Special Airworthiness Certification (experimental) for Armada Model Zero, permitting vertical takeoff and flight for testing and development.

In the air we are regulated by existing FAA systems. On the ground we are regulated by existing NHTSA systems. The law already has a place for it.

The next model is planned as FAA Light Sport Aircraft, which requires only Special Airworthiness Certification, not Type or Production Certification.

Nothing else drives on a road and takes off vertically. That combination is the category.

On order book, certification path and go-to-market, we've reached milestones that took the last generation of eVTOL companies years and hundreds of millions to hit. Different vehicle, different market. A car a person owns, not an air taxi.

It is 2026. Our preorder book already holds a billion of it.

Henry Ford said this combination was coming in 1940, and was teased for it. That book is 3,500 preorders, with 3,097 deposits placed at tiers of $150, $1,500 and $100,000 and the full price of $300,000 payable at delivery. A further 400 units are held in non-binding letters of intent.

Deposits are refundable by law. Third-party forecasts are not Alef projections. Future projections are not guaranteed.

The market before a machine.

Two research sites, San Mateo & Milpitas. San Mateo is equipped for future assembly.

The dealers are signed and the first market is chosen before a single car is built. That market is rural: the Ultralight classification fits there, and the first cars have somewhere legal to fly the day they arrive. When we're ready to build, San Mateo can assemble them.

Eight motors lift it. Four more drive it.

Structural mesh. Airfoil sides. A motor in each wheel.

Eight independent propeller, speed controller and motor systems produce the vertical lift. They steer on differential thrust and vector thrust for forward flight and stabilisation. On the ground, four automotive hub motors drive the car, one inside each wheel. The top mesh lets air through, carries structure, encloses the propellers and prevents foreign object interference. The driver and passenger sides double as airfoils. Twelve motors in all, and from the sidewalk it still reads as a roof and four wheels.

The full vehicle ballistic parachute is planned for the next model. Planned systems remain planned until demonstrated and validated through continued testing.


Watched in real time.

Eight independent systems. Lose one, seven fly.

Each of the eight propulsion systems is independent of the other seven. Energy, temperature and vibration are monitored continuously. It sees obstacles. It returns home. It lands itself, on ordinary ground, and drives away.

Dr. Constantine Kisly, Director of Engineering. PhD in advanced materials. Twenty plus years in science and engineering, formerly a scientist at Intel Labs. Nine peer reviewed papers and multiple patents.

Paul Markin, Director of Electronics. Fifteen plus years in drones and electrical engineering. At Intel: Centrino integration and power optimization, and Turbo Memory NAND flash technology, performance and power analysis. Senior instructor at the Intel drone club.
