Most e-bikes sit between 65 - 75% efficient, meaning if you put a single watt of power IN, you get about .65 watts OUT to the back wheel. Thanks for the question Tim. The Orbit Drive outputs 2:1 at the lowest gear, and 4:1 at the highest. And the drive does solve for your use-case. The bevel differential gearing allows the rider to choose a cadence (just get on and pedal) AND an assist level (how much you want to work). So you decide. Want to ride with little effort? The shaft drive is a premium product and has a few benefits over the chain and belt; it is slightly more efficient and it allows the complete drive system to be enclosed.
