Our Story

ZEV Station is on a mission to remove the vehicle from the carbon equation™ with ultra-fast, carbon-free fuel for EVs and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Its goal is to replace -gasoline with fast-charging-, and -diesel with hydrogen- for all Zero-Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) all while providing a high-end customer experience. With the “Premier” full-scale location slated to open in 2024, ZEV Station is planning the highway travel center, an “environmental oasis” for America’s next generation of clean transportation.

ZEV Station launched its first public charging station at the iconic Palm Springs Art Museum in California in October of this year. This ‘proof of concept’ charging site is both a validation tool and the first revenue springboard for ZEV Station. See Video (also above!).

Reasons to Invest:

● ZEV Station’s FastLane™ technology to enable ultra-fast, carbon-free fueling for all ZEV vehicles, both battery electric & hydrogen fuel cell, while customers can enjoy an upscale rest stop while they refuel their vehicles from 5-18* minutes. ZEV Station’s unique renewable energy storage system enables access to low-cost, carbon-free electricity, while providing backup power.

● Significant environmental movements & government incentives bolster attractive project economics for ZEV Station. ZEV Station has been awarded $2.7m in Grants to date. Zero Emission Vehicle demand is high while ZEV fueling infrastructure availability is low, and that disparity will accelerate with California’s mandate for 100% zero-emission vehicle sales by 2035.**

● Transportation is now the largest source of carbon emissions in the US, while the lack of fast charging and hydrogen refueling infrastructure (especially along highways) is the key bottleneck preventing the rapid adoption of zero-emission vehicles. Your investment will assist with ZEV Station’s mission to directly accelerate the deployment of ZEV fueling infrastructure and therefore the transition to zero-carbon transportation.***

"Environmental Oasis"

ZEV Station is Creating an “Environmental Oasis” where you and your vehicle can re-charge carbon free

ZEV Station is here to build America’s next generation of highway fueling infrastructure, replacing yesterday’s travel center. Instead of the drab roadside stop of today, picture an environmental oasis—a futuristic travel center fueling all ZEVs cars and trucks. At ZEV Station you will be able to relax and recharge with great food, or if you’re in a hurry you can make a quick and efficient pit stop. The ZEV Station experience can accommodate your needs in a great environment.

ZEV Fleet: Enticing Fleets to Charge Forward

ZEV Station has acquired Class 6 EV Walk-in Step Vans to be used as a test fleet to help start EV Charging business. ZEV Fleet (a subsidiary of ZEV Station) plans to offer a TCO lease (including both charging and maintenance) for a lower cost than would be realized with conventional vehicles and fossil fuel. This ZEV Fleet program is designed to counter the chicken and egg dilemma by creating a short term packaged lease bundling the EV delivery van, ZEV Station charging, and maintenance. This will enable last mile delivery fleet owners to evaluate the benefit of an EV delivery van and entice them to sign up for ZEV Station’s offtake agreements.

The first few EV Step Vans have been rented to a FedEx Ground Independent Service Provider on 11/14/ 2022 in Palm Springs, California. The intention is to start the ball rolling to convince more and more of the fleet ISP owners to convert over to ZEV and charge at ZEV Station location(s).

ZEV Station Team

ZEV Station is powered by a stellar team of industry experts with over 100 years of collective experience. The team is led by Jesse Schneider, a trailblazing engineering leader with experience in hydrogen and electric vehicles for technology leading brands including BMW and Mercedes. Jesse has pioneered the standardization of hydrogen as a fuel and implemented hydrogen fueling stations. He also spearheaded advanced EV charging developments in the industry & U.S. Department of Energy. Jesse has assembled an experienced leadership team to support his ground-breaking Strategy & Vision to bring these technologies to market. After 20+ years of designing and developing Electric & Fuel Cell vehicles, at major automakers, the question that he asked himself was, “Every automaker is rushing to build ZEV vehicles, but who is building the ZEV infrastructure?” The solution: ZEV Station.

The Starts are aligning for ZEVs:

The Federal government has massive incentives with the passed Infrastructure Bill & Inflation Reduction Act. State are ramping up funding especially California and ZEV States, with substantial incentives towards purchasing ZEVs (EV & FCV) as well as establishing a nation wide infrastructure.

THE PROBLEM & OUR SOLUTION

The Next Generation of EV Infrastructure

California has implemented the Zero Emission Vehicle Law in August 2022, mandating all light duty vehicles in 2035 shall be zero emissions (outlawing the internal combustion engine). The California mandate starts immediately, such that by 2030, the amount of ZEVs will increase from today’s 1 Million to over 8 million! To add to this, 16 other states have adopted this mandate. At the federal level, there has been a mandate that 50% of all federally purchased vehicles must be ZEV by 2030. Reaching these benchmarks will require more than 1.2 million additional chargers by 2030 in California alone, according to the CEC.

Demand of Charging soon to Outstrip Supply due to ZEV Law

The Solution: ZEV Station

ZEV Station plans at the Premier & Heavy Duty Stations to have significant charging for both light and heavy duty vehicles unlike the competition. ZEV Station also plans to produce and distribute its own hydrogen as part of a sustainable business model, sourced from low-cost carbon-free electricity at a high margin, both supported by state and federal grants and tax incentives. Focusing on what matters most to consumers and investors and an ability to overcome challenges is what sets ZEV Station apart from the pack.

ZEV Station currently owns a number of unique related copyrights and trademarks, and has a number of patents pending and trade secrets. ZEV Station is leveraging its agility, ingenuity, and experience to remove obstacles from the supply chain and overcome industry challenges. This will be a critical success factor for companies looking to capture significant market share in a high growth industry with significant materials and resources constraints.

THE MARKET & OUR TRACTION

EV Charging Stations are a $17B Market

With investments in EVs and EV infrastructure growing dramatically, there has never been a better time to start ZEV Station . The 2022 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has allocated $5B in funds towards the deployment of a national electric vehicle charging network and $8B towards hydrogen hub infrastructure, while California has its own $10B ZEV budget. The Inflation Reduction Act has even more funding for ZEVs, charging & hydrogen (such as federal tax credit amounting to $3 per kilogram of hydrogen sold).

These initiatives are fueling the anticipated trajectory of the industry, with the global EV charging stations market size expected to grow from $17B in 2021 to $111B by 2028, with a CAGR of >30%. Many companies are planning to retrofit gas stations with chargers; however, ZEV Station plans one of the first fueling sites exclusively with 100% zero carbon fuel for both EVs & FCVs in North America.

ZEV Station is planning to launch its first large scale EV charging station in 2024, which is currently in the permitting process phase. ZEV Station “Premier Station” is to be located in front of the iconic wind farms of the San Gorgonio Mountain Pass, in Palm Springs ¼ mile off the I-10 freeway between LA & Phoenix. ZEV Land, a subsidiary of ZEV Station, owns the property.

The ZEV Station Premier site to be one of the most capable Zero Emission Vehicle Fueling locations with more than a dozen DC fast chargers, each capable of charging to 350kW with CCS1 ( J1772) with some Tesla Connectors. There are also Dedicated Heavy-Duty EV Charging Lanes. In addition, there are hydrogen dispensers for both light and medium duty, with lanes dedicated to heavy-duty vehicles (SAE J2601 fueling). The Premier site plans to also utilize a unique energy storage system, allowing for backup power and the ability to reduce electricity costs (by charging the battery when electricity is cheap and discharging the battery when electricity is expensive).

ZEV Station plans to also produce green hydrogen onsite in a small ‘hub’ for onsite use, storage, and export.

The ZEV Station Store is planned to have a great coffee shop and an upscale convenience store to grab and go, while offering customers who want to stay and watch the view of the mountains and wind mills a chance to have a sit-down meal.

In addition to these initiatives, ZEV Station has signed an MoU with ZeroAvia to co-develop airport hydrogen ecosystems for the aviation industry, evaluating ecosystems towards an Airport Hydrogen Hub for both Ground Vehicles and Aircraft.

ZEV Station (Jesse Schneider) is chairing the H2-Aero.Team. H2-Aero has organized the first symposium and workshop in the United States on the use of hydrogen and fuel cells for aviation applications, with stellar participation by key aircraft and hydrogen industry and government representatives from around the world. The H2-Aero.Team is to release a Whitepaper, “Developing a Multimodal H2-Airport Hub” which will enable multiple forms of ground transportation (light and heavy-duty vehicles, ground support equipment as well as aircraft) to scale and share a larger hydrogen hub.
