## Story
"We're So Dead" is a big, fun slasher-comedy FOR the service industry BY the service industry. Influencers, bloggers, and creators from the restaurant business have come together to create the next iconic restaurant film.Every community deserves its own scary movie that's made just for them. This will be ours. We're inviting everyone to come together to laugh, cry, and scream "DON'T GO IN THERE!" Ashley has to work Christmas. It’s DEAD. In more ways than one. The staff dreads being there and the customers are HELL. Worst of all, a killer is on the loose! A killer the servers call KAREN!Her co-workers disappear to do bad things like drugs and each other. They fall victim to cruel but hilarious murders plots and painful one-liners.As is the case on most shifts, Ashley must do everything herself. It's up to her to save the restaurant by getting this killer customer to finally CLOSE OUT.Meet us on Zoom! -----> https://calendly.com/weresodeadmovie/meet-the-we-re-so-dead-producersWe're a scrappy group of filmmakers who found "temporary" homes as servers and bartenders. We're hoping to give back to the industry that shaped us with the next iconic restaurant film. The Bitchy Waiter has been the voice of the service industry for over a decade, fostering a tight-knit community. He partnered with Shift Drinks Comedy to produce high-quality, server-life comedy films. You've probably seen a few. We've paired with YouTube and Tik-Tok influencers. We wanted to cast actors and personalities who found success outside of the Hollywood system! (Here are a few and we hope to cast more)Aaron Goldenberg is a content creator with over 1 million Tik-Tok and IG followers. His platform gives voice to the LGBTQ community. As an actor, he's appeared on Lifetime, Netflix, BET, HBO, Amazon and more.Ethan Trace is a Tip-Tok influencer and content creator with nearly 3 million followers. He’s a voice actor, cinematographer, musician, and his acting credits include Etowah Ridge, Twitchers, and Christmas Wish. We've dealt with unemployment, understaffing, pissed-off customers, and death. We were thrown into public sooner than most, then called lazy and entitled. They're a special breed: kind and nurturing but bad-asses with raunchy senses of humor. Basically, they're the perfect characters to survive a horror movie! What is Distribution?Traditionally, it's how filmmakers are able to reach the masses by partnering with a distributor who collects 30% of the profits, on average. But we already have the masses. It's you guys, the Bitchy Waiter Page, and all your friends! This sets us up nicely for self-distribution. Why Self-Distribution?1) If we control our promotion and distribution, we have power. We don’t have to sell distribution rights.2) We won’t have to pay out third-party companies and can retain 100% of our movie.3) We maintain complete control over marketing, pricing, and complete viewing experience. We get to choose when and where it goes up online (for VOD or streaming) and have the right to barter and negotiate.4) We don’t have to wait for contracts to be finalized, or for content cycles or distribution cycles. In some cases, this process can take up to 15 years for investors to see a return.5) Should we ultimately decide to partner with a distribution company, we’ll have the leverage to choose a reputable one and negotiate a fair deal.

## FAQ
1. **Have anyone on your team completed and/ or distributed a feature length film before?**
 - Hey Eugene, my first feature as Exec Producer, was called Postal (the 2019 film). You can view on any major streaming platform. It received distro from Freestyle. Currently I’m the UPM with a local production company. We are currently producing our 7th low budget film in the past 12 mos. We work with MarVista Entertainment and Tubi.
2. **Are there any unique ways you'll market to the service industry?**
 - That’s a great question that might be easier explained in a zoom call. Would you be interested in chatting on Zoom?
3. **Have you got the cast, crew and locations all setup and ready to go? How long will it take to shoot this? Do you currently have enough money for production and post production?**
 - Hey Benjamin, Thank you for the questions and interest. I'll answer them in reverse order. We presently are looking for another $20k-$40k to truly feel good about production and post-production. Although we can shoot something great with what we have, that's the amount we'd still like to make this something truly special. This will be a 10-12 day shoot. We have our crew. We have our cast for the most part, but the final cast and restaurant location will be largely dictated by our final budget...
4. **Can you give more insight on the “Gross Proceeds” benefit for investors**
 - Sure thing. Thanks for asking. This is standard in film financing agreements. Once all investors have been paid their 1.2 payback multiple, proceeds are then distributed (50/50) between the producer pool and the investor pool. One's stake in the investor pool correlates to the size of their investment (obviously). So if an investor is 2% of the investor pool, he or she will see 1% of the proceeds. Does this answer your question?
5. **Is this movie going to be released on streaming platforms this year or where can we watch it?**
 - Hey Brandon. Sorry that it took us so long to respond to this!!!! For some reason, we never got the notification of a message. We turned our own site into a streaming platform, and it's available at www.weresodeadmovie.com. Happy holidays!

## Q&A
- Q: Can you give more insight on the “Gross Proceeds” benefit for investors
 - A: Sure thing.
 - A: Adding to Ken's answer, gross proceeds also take into account sales tax and any distributor platform fees.
- Q: Hey! Is there an update coming on how well the film did this year? I would love to know.
 - A: Hey Brandon, there will be financials that we have to file in a few months that should be accessible via WF but I can also share them with you when they are one. I'm not sure you were wanting to view details or were just curious from a top-level perspective. The theatrical releases were never intended as revenue generator but more to develop a groundswell, get reviews and press. While we are happy with the holiday streaming, we never expected that the release would result in a large viral wave of people renting the film. Long story short, we have been pleased with the release so far but still have work to do with our marketing campaign. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

We have our cast for the most part, but the final cast and restaurant location will be largely dictated by our final budget. We have a wish list for both, but our budget decides what we can afford and how we can coordinate schedules. We also have a lot more exciting news about the project in terms of how we're keeping costs down, and additional revenue streams. We'd be happy to chat more if you're interested.
 - A: Hey Benjamin, following up to let you know some information. Our campaign currently has about $87K on WeFunder plus another $10,000 in donations through other crowdsourcing means. We also, just closed a deal for $25,000 in product placement. While this represents enough to move forward with production and post-production, we are still hoping to raise another $25,000. We are also adding to our cast. One of our team members is "The Bitchy Waiter" who has 1M followers on Facebook, all in the restaurant service industry. He is included in our cast. We have commitment from another influencer named Drew Talbert, who also produces content for restaurant industry workers. He has 1M follower on his YouTube and .5M followers on Instagram. We also have a commitment from Jenna Kanell to play our lead Ashley. Her most notable role is in the Terrifer movies, but she's also been in Renfield and WandaVision. A movie she wrote and starred in is in the festival circuit now called Faceless After Dark, and she recently received a grant for her own feature from Vanishing Angle, which is being produced by Jason Reitman. We are shooting in January with 10 days of principal photography. We are excited that you have invested in several film campaigns on WeFunder, and would love to answer any more questions you have.
