## Story
Vyrill was founded by Ajay Bam and Dr. Barbara Rosario, who understood after extensive conversations with brand marketers, that brands and retailers were struggling with capturing and understanding massive user generated video content posted in 48+ languages across the web, smartphones and 20+ social platforms. Ajay and Dr. Rosario found that brand marketers were looking for ways to understand, who is posting video content, where and when, and what consumers are saying about their products within their videos, and how to leverage authentic video reviews, unboxing and how-to and more for product marketing. Beyond this, marketers were also looking for ways to find competitor data and insights for user generated video content which led them to the question;"Might there be a way to sort through all the video content to leverage product reviews for product marketing, or understand customer frustrations and be able to take specific actions?"As smartphones and high speed telecom networks as 4G and 5G happened, customers have begun to launch their shopping experiences by viewing videos on Google, Bing, Amazon and Youtube. However, Google, Bing and search engines in general, do a very poor job at finding and indexing videos.Another problem was how to search inside the video itself. As customers watch videos, they want to find what they are looking for instantly, even when the video is long. No one has time to watch a long video or multiple videos. Offering a tool for in-video search, where customers can find what they are looking for instantly was a top priority for Ajay & Barbara. Vyrill is like a ‘google’ for commerce videos allowing brands to listen and watch inside the video to unlock its potential for revenue. ~ Ajay Bam, CEO & Co-Founder of VyrillWith user generated video content creation and consumption growing exponentially at 200% a year and since Covid, online video (including streaming video) has spiked growing an estimated 600% and continues to rise. Because 85% of consumers have said that videos influence their purchase decisions and offer a touch free product experience, user generated video has become essential to brand’s seeking to grow revenue. Ajay and Dr. Rosario initially set out to build a ‘video refinery’, similar to an oil refinery, that would process ‘crude video’ and extract data and insights that are not only usable but that save time, energy and money. They spent three years working on research and development to train machines to watch and understand millions of videos in nine dimensions. Something that has never been done before. They succeeded and Vyrill is the result. Here are some key milestones over the past four years; 2016 : • Journey began with analyzing videos to match videos to product, brands and competitors 2017 - 2018: • Developed video transcript, sentiment, topics, and keywords. • Integrated with Youtube. • Launched alpha 2019-2020: • Analyzed videos for demographics, scenes, brand safety and tying all of this together with text and audio analysis • Launched beta insights and reporting version 1.0. • Developed content marketing tools for brands to capture, license and display videos to increase engagement and conversion. • Launched the platform in production, reporting 2.0 • Integrated with Dropbox Today: • Vyrill is building out additional campaign management tools for brand marketers. Our most recent project amounted to 3000 videos with an average length of 16.5 minutes, totaling more than 800 hours. This amount of time and energy roughly adds up to $21K in expenses to simply watch the videos, let alone conduct analysis and draft reports. As clients like Porsche, AirAsia, Revlon, Dell and Sargento have already experienced, Vyrill as a business solution not only saves time, energy and money but uncovers new possibilities for e-commerce.Our TeamThank youIf you are interested in following our progress, please click here to sign up for our newsletter by letting us know here: https://vyrill.com/contact-us/

   - Leonardo, We have had $50K in revenue YTD, but expect to close $100K to $150K in business before end of the year. We were impacted by Covid for 8 months as our customers - brands and retailers focused on supporting their core business during Covid and growing their e-commerce businesses to support online shopping. - Rohan, I have done projections for 3 years. Revenue target is $1.469M for 2021, $5.69M for 2022 and $18.6M for 2023. We expect 70% of revenue to come from Enterprise customers from SAAS and Licensing business model.

5. **According to Wefunder, Vyrill has a outstanding loan from Kabbage of $12,234 with an interest rate of 78%. What made you take out such a high interest loan and why has it not been paid off yet? I am also interested in Sachin's question. Thank you.**
   - Alexander. We had a tight cash flow situation during Covid last year and thus took a loan to meet payroll. Its paid off now and cleared up. Infact I renegotiated it to $7.5K and paid it off.

## Q&A
- Q: Hi there! Thanks so much for taking the time to answer our questions here. I have just a couple quick ones before I decide to commit or not. 1.) What prompted you to start Vyrill in the first place? 2.) Why is now the best time for offering this service? Why is now the time for this idea to succeed? 3.) What do you feel is your unfair advantage? 4.) Tell me briefly about your competition. 5.) Tell me the top reason why this business might fail. 6.) Given the current amount of this raise, how much runway will you have?
  - A: Hi Dean, I appreciate your questions! Thanks for asking… My co-founder - Dr. Barbara Rosario and I are interested in applying AI and machine learning to solve big problems. We noticed that with authentic fan/user generated video (such as product reviews, unboxing, how-to, fan reactions, etc) being created and consumed on 30+ social platforms, YouTube, Tiktok etc. and phones in 45+ languages has exploaded over 600% during Covid. Digging through massive amounts of video data consumes time and $$, resulting in missed marketing opportunities for brand marketers. With over 85% of consumers mentioning that videos influence purchase decisions, reduce review fraud and offer touch free shopping experience, brands and retailers are missing out on the opportunity to leverage authentic videos on their social, product pages and home pages to increase page engagement, reduce cart abandonment & conversion to buy. Thus the problem we set out to solve was, “How do we build a bridge between video and e-commerce?” I can most certainly write a book on why now is the time but instead I’ll just say that we believe that commerce will begin and end with video going forward. We’re already seeing this with Amazon having amassed over 250 million+ videos to support their product pages and brands like Nike, BMW, Coca-Cola have over 20 million+ videos just on Youtube (and 90% of that is UGVC, not branded content), and growing across multiple social media platforms. Our unfair advantage in the market, or as I like to call it, our undeniable value offering is that we are the first ‘in-video’ search engine that offers easy access to ranked UGVC by brand, product, category, keyword or hashtag and allows a mechanism to search inside the video. The key to video commerce is being able to search inside the video. We help brands find top content from millions of videos for product marketing, while we help customers instantly search video content to help find the answers to help make informed purchase decisions. No one has the time to watch a video or videos that are more than 30 secs long. We have also built a scalable UGVC licensing and campaign management tool that helps brands acquire and re-use UGVC for social proof and frictionless commerce. We have filed one provisional patent and have three more patents in the works. NO OTHER COMPANY allows brands to discover and leverage UGVC in the way Vyrill does. Our competition is Trustpilot, Bazaarvoice and Brandwatch. The difference is that Trustpilot and Bazaarvoice are for text based reviews only, NOT for video. Brandwatch is a social listening platform based on text, and they do not do video or offer any tools for commerce. We are a lean, agile company to begin with. However, after the setback of 2020, it will be very difficult if low cash flow prevents us from seizing 2021 by the horns and catapulting Vyrill into the marketplace. If we cannot continue to zero in on what is of utmost value to our current and future customers and then deliver on that promise as a leader in the UGVC discovery & commerce marketing space, the opportunity cost may sneak up on us and threaten our success. We also need to hire the best engineering talent to scale up the platform and continue to integrate faster with more platforms to grow our market share. We are crawling out of Covid in-tact and hopeful as a company. This round of fundraising will get us some good track shoes to get a leg up on the runway. With this current round, we will have approximately 24 months to reach the threshold where we are viable. Feel free to reach out to me directly with more questions. Best, Ajay
- Q: Ajay and Barbara, I'm interested in investing. Two questions: how would I exit and what is your view of the pending Yodlee privacy litigation?
  - A: Steven, there are two exits for Vyrill. Exit 1 - Video review and commerce platform like ours will become more critical to Shopify, Amazon, Walmart , Adobe or Google. I will not be surprised if these companies come after Vyrill next year for an acquisition. OR Exit 2 - In 6-8 years, we become the leading video content marketing platform globally and go IPO. I am looking into Yodlee litigation and will get back to you. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

- Q: As an investor in your company, do you have a plan to take your company public?
- Q: Ajay, Thanks for the latest news about your presentation at a tech conference. However, I was hoping you would give us a business update. I think it was before COVID that you hinted you had landed a contract with the world's largest search engine. What became of that? I'd appreciate an update from you. When will you be a profitable business? How much revenue are you generating? Are there predictable revenues? It'd be good to know how Viryll is doing financially. Unless I missed it, I haven't seen an update from you in at least 3 years, but I am happy to be wrong.
  - A: Jilani, I have sent a few updates. Sorry that you did not receive them. Can you please check your Spam email? We use Hubspot for our campaigns. I will double check your email as well. So much has happened as you can imagine since the LLMs came about. We have launched a set of e-commerce tools end of Q4 to make video content searchable on the e-commerce site with site search, personalization, SEO, recommendations and buy now. You can check out few live customers - odrskis.com, tentsile.com, ourx.co We power video search experiences on the sites. Goal is to power worlds e-commerce sites with video search and commerce experiences. Currently raising a $3M seed round. We will do $300K in ARR this quarter and hope to cross $1M in revenue end of year. Happy to chat with you 1 on 1. I apologize for the delay in response. I am traveling on business to Saudi for an AI conference. Let me know if you would like to connect sometime. Thank you again for your support. Its a journey and hustle. I am at it day and night. Vyrill wants to dominate the video search and commerce space. Thx, Ajay
- Q: Can I still invest?
- Q: Hi Ajay, With only 5 days left in your campaign, would you consider lowering the minimum investment amount to $100 OR $125? This would allow a LOT more of us to participate in your campaign and perhaps will fuel you to your maximum raise. Thanks for considering. Blessings
  - A: Hi W Kim, Great Question! Unfortunately, we were advised against lowering the minimum investment at this late stage in the campaign. Thanks for your interest. Ajay
- Q: Getting no response to a simple question like how you plan to repay $968,851 in short term debt when you have only $59,000 cash on hand = no investment from me.
  - A: Hi Anne, Thanks for your patience. We are delightfully busy at Vyrill and I was vaccinated this week so it took me a day or so to answer your prior question. I'll paste it here again for your convenience; 2020 was a rough year but we survived by reducing our team size, reducing expenses such as co-working space, taking PPP loan, taking small corporate loans and negotiating our bills with vendors. Our current situation - In addition to raising $350K+ on wefunder, we have raised $650k in funding from seed stage funds and other angel investors and $190K in PPP funding. Additionally we are generating revenue. Our burn rate is $65K per month at the moment. At that rate, we have a run-rate of 12 months with our current cash flow situation. Some of the short term debt such as PPP has been forgiven, we paid off some loans and we negotiated some bills. Also we are raising another $1M in addition to the $1M raised above with seed stage funds for a total seed round of $2M, allowing us to increase run rate for another 10 months for a total of 22 months by which time we hope to be generating more revenue and raising series A. It has been a wild ride. I’m happy to say that things are already looking up and the future is bright. You will not be disappointed with your investment in Vyrill! Thank you, Ajay
- Q: I like your suite of products and your market. That said, I am at a loss to understand how you will address your reported short term debt of $968,851. You so far have raised $340,000 in this round, have $59,000 cash on hand and have yet to report a profit. How will you remain in business.
  - A: Hi Anne, Thanks for asking. Let us share with you a quick update on the cash flow situation. 2020 was a rough year but we survived by reducing our team size, reducing expenses such as co-working space, taking PPP loan, taking small corporate loans and negotiating our bills with vendors. Our current situation - In addition to raising $350K+ on wefunder, we have raised $650k in funding from seed stage funds and other angel investors and $190K in PPP funding. - Q: Hi Ajay and Barbara, how long is your run way after this raise? I think I also saw that you are raising money from VC. How's that process going?
  - A: Hi Michael, thanks for dropping by our WeFunder page. Our runway will be approximately 24 months when we reach our $2M goal. With the WeFunder fundraise, we have raised approx $1M or 50% of our $2M goal. Thus far, we’ve raised funding through amazing private investors and innovators including Bora Chung, Ex-Head of Payments at Apple, Upendra Kulkarni, SVP of Research at Intel, Vanja Josifovski the Chief Technology Officer at Airbnb and Jure Leskovic Associate Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University & Chief Scientist at Pinterest. So I’d say it’s going very well. Every day I am humbled by the support and feedback we receive. We are in talks with few other seed-stage funds to invest as well.
- Q: How will you get permission from the user that created the video to allow you to license the video to an e-commerce business that wants to use that video to monetize their advertising campaign? Do you pay the user who created.the video a flat.fee?
  - A: John, the platform captures the creators' email or chat id listed on their profiles for outreach on youtube or other social channels. In case of e-commerce, the brand has the customer's email Id. Thus, the brand can email them with a Vyrill plug-in to capture a product video review, unboxing or how-to video on behalf of the brand. We are GDPR compliant and always do a double opt-in. We also have a creator login if they should choose to register with their email and license content. Thus, the platform can reach out to creators to acquire licensing rights for the video and reward them with paypal cash. The fee is determined by the brand whether they want to pay a fixed fee or a variable fee. We facilitate the workflow and process. Licensing fees can range from a standard of $10 and as high as thousands for large macro influencers.
