Many companies opt to give VIP investors better terms. For example, if the company sets a valuation of $30M pre-money for it's raise, it might decide to offer a lower $27M valuation to Wefunder VIP investors, representing a discount of 10% from the standard valuation. The decision to allocate a portion of their raise to Wefunder VIP members and grant them better terms ultimately rests with the company.
If a company is offering VIP terms, you'll see a VIP badge on their campaign page.

If you upgrade to VIP within 7 days of an investment while an eligible campaign is still open, the VIP terms will automatically apply.

Many venture-backed startups that raise on Wefunder — like Substack — have historically only accepted investments from their customers. We now obtain an allocation from startups to offer exclusively to our VIP investors.
Even as a VIP member, there is no guarantee that you'll be able to invest the amount you wish. In the event that VIP demand exceeds the VIP allocation, we may reduce investment sizes and/or process VIP investors first come, first serve.
You can cancel your VIP membership anytime. If you cancel, your membership will no longer automatically renew, and you’ll retain all your VIP benefits until the end of your term. We do not offer refunds.
Your VIP membership will auto-renew one year after your original purchase. You may cancel your VIP membership at any time prior if you do not wish to renew.
Yes! You can purchase a gift card with VIP membership. Their annual membership will begin when they redeem their gift. You also can pre-load up to $2000 onto the card.
