5. **Are your meals made of vegetable and animal products? Thanks, Mark Vegan Investing Club**
 - Hi Mark – V+B offers meals for both dietary preferences. Subscribers can choose between fully vegan meals or options that include pasture-raised, grass-fed animal proteins. Either way, our priority is a balanced diet packed with nutrition. The name Vegetable and Butcher actually comes from our cofounders — Ariane, a vegan (the vegetable), and Turner, a meat-eater (the butcher) — who teamed up to create nutrient-rich meal plans for both lifestyles. Whether plant-based or with meat, every meal ...

## Q&A
- Q: Hi! I have a few questions: 1. Which is the market you are currently operating in? 2. Do you intend to expand into new markets? If so, will the production change? Will the raw materials come from local farms still or will they be imported into that country? 3. How do you differentiate yourself from your competitors (other than being in the intersection between health and wellness and convenience, as some other healthy food sellers also offer some degree of convenience) 4. When will this wefunder campaign end? (Last time I can invest is?) 5. How will you use the money from this campaign to achieve your goals and objectives 6. If you are operating in the US, how do you think tariffs will impact future operations (especially if expanding into new countries)? Thank you! Awesome work so far! Looking forward to what comes next!
 - A: Hi Carlo, thank you for your questions and your interest in our campaign! Current markets: We started in Washington, D.C. in 2016 and have since expanded further into Virginia and Maryland, taking our time to grow carefully while maintaining our high standards. High demand led us to search for a larger facility where we could expand our operations, take on new clients, new zip codes, and further cities. New markets: Now that we have opened our new 10,000 sq ft facility, we can deliver up to 8 hours away, which is huge. Within 8 hours, we have a lot of territory to cover, and we are expanding to each new area as we see interest while strategically planning to make sure we continue to provide excellent service and fresh food. If we decide to expand further in the future, we will use the same model to ensure that our meals are filled with fresh, locally and sustainably sourced foods. Differentiation from competitors: V+B operates on a fully vertically integrated model, encompassing every stage of the customer experience - from sourcing ingredients, cooking meals, delivering meals, to collecting our packaging and compostable waste. This model is hard to replicate but makes us defensible and resilient. Unlike national competitors, V+B’s food is fresh, never frozen, plant-forward, packed with nutrition, and we deliver it to your door on a convenient schedule throughout the week so that it is always ready for you. We believe in a balanced diet for both our vegan and meat-based options and use only pasture-raised and grass-fed animal proteins. Our menu features 40+ superfoods that sharpen the mind, energize the body, support immunity, and we never use refined sugar or artificial ingredients. Another major differentiation is that we support 30+ local farms, operate on a closed-loop system with a zero waste approach, leading to 100% carbon offset. We have donated over 50,000 meals to our community and continue to do so weekly! Close date: We do not have a set close date yet, but we will announce it over email ahead of time when we select a date, so make sure to follow for updates! Use of funds: The funds from this raise will largely go towards taking on new team members to support our growth, developing technology to make the ordering process seamless, and expanding to each new area. You can see a more detailed breakdown on the Details tab on our campaign page. Tariffs: Our vertically integrated model shields us from many disruptions, and we find that a service like ours provides stability to our subscribers. One of the ways we have stayed so resilient over the years is through the strong network of local farmers and food distributors that we rely on to source our food. Our model gives us control over quality and margins. Our menu is always evolving to reflect what is freshest for our subscribers with regional sourcing. We get most of our packaging from within the U.S. currently, and will adapt to any changes if we ever need to. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any further questions - we would love to welcome you as an investor!
- Q: Hi V + B, is the current round oversubscribed? Thank you, Glenn
- Q: Hi. You have a great model and I think your potential is huge. A couple questions. 1. On the balance sheet, inventory decreased from 165k to 41k. Is this just a timing issue, or have you found a way to turn inventory faster? 2. Also on the balance sheet, prepaid expenses increased from 8k to 496k. Reason for this? 3. Can you give more info on your delivery model? Are the drivers employees with company vehicles? Or are the 1099 with their own vehicles? Also have you considered a ride share model? 4. General & admin expenses increased from 19.4% of sales to 27.8%. Reason for this? 5. Salaries and wages decreased from 1356k to 965k. How was this accomplished? I read through your notes several times; if any of these questions were already addressed I apologize! Thanks, Steve
 - A: Hi Steve — really appreciate your thoughtful questions and your kind words about our model. We’re thrilled about what we’re building and grateful for your interest. A lot of the fluctuations you’re seeing are tied to a major inflection point in our business — last year, we made the decision to pause most marketing and customer acquisition to focus on building a new, centralized facility that would allow us to scale more effectively. That shift had ripple effects across inventory, staffing, and expense allocation. On the inventory side, you’re right that it’s partly a timing issue, but also the result of improved systems and more efficient purchasing processes now that we’re operating under one roof. Similarly, the increase in prepaid expenses is mainly due to prepaid advertising and some one-time accounting adjustments during our financial review. On the delivery front, we use a 1099 model with drivers using their own vehicles, a system that’s worked well for us since reliability, customer satisfaction, and fresh food are paramount to us. We haven’t pursued a ride-share model yet, but as we grow and evolve, we will explore all options that make the most sense for our customers and employees. As for G&A and wage shifts, our costs overall actually went down, but since revenue dipped during that marketing pause, certain expense ratios temporarily ticked up. We’ve since restructured key parts of our operations team, which has helped us maintain strong service while setting us up for healthier margins going forward. Thanks again for taking the time to dig in. We’re always happy to chat more and hope to have you join our investor community as we enter this exciting next chapter. Warmly, The V+B Team
- Q: Your 100K investment perk of meals for life says "redeemable through 2030." Does that mean the meals for life would only be through 2030, or must be started by 2030?
 - A: Hello Nick, thank you for your question! The free meals for life subscription must start by 2030, it does not end in 2030. This is to accommodate anyone who is either currently not in our delivery area or does not need our services now, but will in the future. It is also giftable to one person if the investor themselves does not want the subscription but knows someone who would. I hope you choose to join us as an investor!
- Q: Wondering if Boston is on your list of potential new markets within the 8-hour radius you mentioned? (Former DC customer here who hopes you will expand up this way!)
 - A: Hello Jed, thank you for your interest! Boston is definitely on our radar once we start to see enough interest in the area. When people go on our website, they are able to put in their zip code and all of our decisions are coming from that growing list. So, have your friends and family sign up for updates so that we know how many people want us up there!
- Q: is your product line 100% vegan?
 - A: Hi Mark, Our menu is plant-forward including both vegan and animal protein options, and everything we offer is naturally gluten- and dairy-free. We rotate 40+ superfoods and design our meals to support daily energy, recovery, and overall well-being. When we started the company, one of us ate meat and the other was vegan, and we were looking for ways to bridge the gap and offer a convenient option for balanced nutrition for both dietary choices. I would be happy to answer any further questions you have!
- Q: Hi V+B, I live in Arlington, VA so I am aware of you guys and also Mighty Meals and Healthy Fresh Meals. Can you please explain how you are different from Mighty Meals and Healthy Fresh Meals and what your competitive advantage is when compared to the two? Thank you, Glenn
 - A: Hi Glenn, Thanks for reaching out — and for supporting local food. Always great to connect with someone in the area. Mighty Meals has done a great job building a strong following, but our model at V+B is really different, both in philosophy and execution. While we both source locally, our approach to nutrition is more streamlined. We focus on long-term wellness through a balanced diet, no fads or trends, with plant-forward meals that are made from scratch using fresh, whole ingredients. Our menu includes both vegan and animal protein options, and everything we offer is naturally gluten- and dairy-free. We rotate 40+ superfoods and design our meals to support daily energy, recovery, and overall well-being — not just macros or fitness goals. We also operate a closed-loop delivery system — collecting used packaging, composting all food waste, and returning that compost to our local farm partners. And because we’re vertically integrated, we control every part of the process: sourcing, cooking, delivery, and sustainability efforts. That gives us more consistency, better margins, and a smoother experience for our subscribers. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions — happy to go deeper. Best, Turner
- Q: Hey there, I run a community round focused venture fund and have a few questions for you that I'd love to ask 1 on 1 if possible. What's the best way to reach you before end of the community round for a zoom meeting?

 - A: Hi Majed - thank you for your interest in investing in V+B. Yes! We are currently in the process of developing an app to improve our subscriber’s experience and we’re so excited to launch it for everyone. Stay tuned for updates on the app launch!

- Q: Hi there - I have lots of experience with prepared meal services. My understanding is they fall into two main buckets: (1) Factor, Tempo, etc. - companies that ship nationwide but are filled with artificial preservatives, chemicals, and mold inhibitors to support the long journey that the meals have to make before arriving on the doorstep of customers. (2) Local meal preparation companies - these are companies that only operate in major cities like Boston, SF, NYC, etc. These are very healthy foods made with a small number of ingredients and free of any preservatives since the meals don't have to travel far. These companies offer the same product as Factor/Tempo (prepared meals), but without all the chemicals since the kitchens are in the same city as all customers. Where do you fit into this? Do you deliver nationally? If so, do you use preservatives/etc to keep the food from perishing in transit? And if not, what cities are you in? Any insight into this would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!
 - A: Hi Teddy — It’s great to hear from you! Thanks so much for the thoughtful question. Vegetable + Butcher fits squarely in the second category — and proudly so. We deliver fresh, chef-crafted, nutritionally designed meals up to three times a week to our customers’ doors, made without preservatives, additives, or artificial shelf-stabilizers. Since our meals don’t have to travel far, they’re never frozen. This model gives us complete control over quality, sourcing, and sustainability. We cook everything in our own kitchen, deliver through our own fleet, and even pick up and compost our packaging and food scraps, creating a closed-loop system that returns nutrients to the very farms we source from. The new, larger kitchen we opened in October is allowing us to take on a high number of new customers and deliver up to 8 hours away, while maintaining our high standards. We’re proving that convenience, health, and sustainability can coexist. This approach allows us to combine the convenience and consistency of a national brand with the ingredient integrity, culinary quality, and community orientation of a neighborhood shop, and that won’t change as we grow. We believe that's what truly differentiates us in this space — and why our customers stay loyal. Let me know if you'd like to connect further — I would love to share more about our growth plans and product philosophy.
