Thank you for considering joining the producing team of "Shooting Heroin" (2019)!

Since my last update, there has been tremendous and exciting progress made on our film! I would like to periodically update you on the progress we are making. I am excited to announce that we wrapped principal photography and set a few weeks ago! We filmed the entire movie in 12 days.We were very fortunate to attach some impressive talent to this movie in the weeks leading up to filming. Our lead actor is Alan Powell from the ABC show "Quantico". We also had Sherliyn Fenn (Twin Peaks), Oscar-nominated actress Cathy Moriarty (Raging Bull and Casper), Garry Pastore ("The Deuce"), two-time Emmy-nominated actor Nicholas Turturro ("Blue Bloods"), Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs (LA Heat), Rachel Hendrix (October Baby), Jackie Siegel (Queen of Versailles), and Brian O'Halloran (Clerks). Over 300 extras also took part in the film!

We had a wonderful crew with both union and non-union staff. We were a signatory Directors Guild of America film and had a Unit Production Manager, 1st, and 2nd Assistant Director that were DGA. We had award-winning cinematographer John Honor, whose recent film premiered at SXSW. Our whole team rallied together to film 12 solid days of filming and got all of our shots! It was an incredible experience and feat!

I recall one night in particular at the end of the first week of filming where we halted production for 45 minutes as ambulances and fire trucks passed by and sirens filled the night. We were unable to film during this period because of the sound interference. It was discovered afterwards that the sirens were because of a heroin overdose. This night brought everything in to focus and reminded us why we were telling this important story.

We are proud to be one of the first scripted narrative feature films about the current opioid epidemic in America. I believe in the power of story to positively influence culture. It is my hope and prayer that this movie will shed light on this dark subject and potentially give a voice to the many victims and survivors of this terrible epidemic.

This movie would not be possible without your financial contribution. We still have a long road ahead as we begin post-production in the coming weeks and seek a proper distribution partner, but we are excited to bring this movie to theater audiences in the new year. If you know anyone who would like to join our team and invest financially in this movie, please let me know. We are close to our goals and determined to make the best film possible!

Sincerely,
Spencer T. Folmar
