"I grew up in Louisiana and wanted to be an entrepreneur. But after graduating from Howard University, I ended up working in intellectual property law for the first 25 years of my career. I left corporate America after my dad died. I'd promised him I would do something that made me happy. So I started creating and sharing deep folk art. I've incorporated bits of my dad's old shirts and ties in my artwork -- mostly paint and fabric collages. I always use the same brown paper for faces. When people ask about it, I tell them, 'Art is how you think.'" -Patrick Earl aka DeepArtist (while he has exhibited his work in 6+ countries, his favorite pop-up spot is in SoHo, next door to Jopwell HQ) #liveyourdreams #create #familyties #thisisambition
