Zenefits Becomes A Top 5 NAHU Broker
I have been a broker for 35 years and, like many of my Zenefits colleagues, I’ve long been an active member of the broker community. Which is why, as a former state president and national trustee of the National Association of Health Underwriters, I’m thrilled that Zenefits’ is now one of the top 5 largest members of NAHU and is on track to be #1 within a year.
Based in Washington, D.C., NAHU is the premier organization representing licensed health insurance agents, brokers, consultants, and benefits professionals. Our individual broker employees are members of the national chapter of NAHU, the California and Arizona state chapters where we have our headquarters and our only other hub, and the association’s local chapters in the Bay Area and Greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Over time, we’ll join other local chapters.
As a NAHU member, Zenefits brokers have become one of the largest broker groups in the organization— an important reminder that Zenefits is one of the largest assemblies of talented insurance pros in the country, here to help provide personal advice and consultation (in addition to great technology). We are a software company, and our SaaS platform helps make running HR and benefits effortless and automatic for more than 10,000 small businesses across the country. But with this high tech comes high touch. Zenefits has brokers licensed to operate in all 50 states.
Our team of brokers includes many veterans, like myself, and due to Zenefits’ rapid growth, we’re also infusing the profession with a lot of new blood, training and adding brokers as fast as any organization in the country.
Joining NAHU is great for our team of brokers–and our customers. First, our brokers have access to advanced professional development. NAHU offers training that is not available anywhere else. The courses it offers will complement and help bolster what we provide at our own Zenefits University, such as training on complicated topics like Affordable Care Act compliance. We know it’s vital for us to stay ahead of the curve so that we can make it effortless for our customers to manage their company and employees, and NAHU membership helps us do that.
Second, the brokerage industry is changing, and by being part of NAHU, Zenefits is able to offer its perspective on what that change is and where it is heading. By helping NAHU think ahead and see around the corner, it will enable the industry to better shape policies and regulations for these new times. We’ll update you on our brokers’ efforts as we get more involved in NAHU.
