OwnLocal has returned from a 3 day company retreat at Chinquapin Ranch in Ingram, Texas. A couple hours outside of Austin, we rode to the ranch in luxury thanks to Vonlane‘s bus accommodations.

Everyone at OwnLocal works extremely hard and spends most of the time in the weeds of everyday tasks. This break allowed us to disconnect and focus on strategy and company vision.

The retreat was a good mix of business and fun. We had 4 group breakout sessions covering

• How to market to new clients
• What OwnLocal as a company does well / what we should improve
• Hypothetical business scenarios that required critical thinking and long term company vision
• Why we all joined OwnLocal and why what we’re doing is important to us as individuals

There was so many takeaways from our group activities and brainstorming sessions. It was definitely worth the time off.

There was also plenty of time for other camp activities, such as a morning bootcamp, lanyard making, a talent show, and the first annual Ownie Awards.

We’re already looking forward to the next event!
