Press Release: OwnLocal Appoints Landon Morales as Chief Revenue Officer
OwnLocal Appoints Landon Morales as Chief Revenue Officer
Austin, Texas (May 29, 2015): OwnLocal, the automated digital ad agency for local media, has appointed Landon Morales as Chief Revenue Officer. Morales joins OwnLocal with more than 20 years of executive leadership in sales and operations. In this new role Morales will be responsible for aligning all revenue generating functions of the company including sales, marketing, and client relations.
Morales has an entrepreneurial spirit. Before joining OwnLocal he co-created and served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Total Men’s Primary Care, a line of male-exclusive health clinics. Prior to Total Men’s he spent nearly nine years with Hair Club for Men and Women as the VP of Operations and head of their Managed Services Organization.
“I never expected selling OwnLocal products was so similar to selling hair restoration services to men. It turns out from the channel partnership side of the business they’re actually very close,” said Lloyd Armbrust, founder and CEO of OwnLocal. “Landon was able to successfully identify strategies that drove growth and then execute those strategies system wide. We want all of our clients to be successful and he has the expertise to make that happen.”
OwnLocal has recently grown to the point of needing a CRO and this the first executive level outside hire OwnLocal has made. With 3 previous startup exits and large scale turnaround successes across multiple domains, Morales possesses deep domain expertise in scaling world-class sales organizations.
Armbrust said, “OwnLocal has seen tremendous growth over the past 5 years with a very small and efficient sales team. As we look at expanding our sales efforts internationally and across verticals, we’ve reached the point where someone with a proven track record will help us achieve our potential.”
Morales said, “I am honored and excited to join Ownlocal in this new position and I very much look forward to working with the team to help our clients capitalize on the opportunities created by the changing media landscape. I admire the innovation and impact Ownlocal is having on traditional media and on small and medium sized businesses, and I hope to contribute to the company’s continued success and leadership in the industry.”
Landon will join OwnLocal full time beginning June 1st.
OwnLocal is a fast growing Austin technology startup specializing in helping newspapers and traditional media companies make money online by automatically creating digital marketing campaigns for their small business customers. OwnLocal works with more than 2,000 newspaper publications in the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Australia.
