Zenefits is Back in the Beehive State!

Gary-Herbert-Zenefits.jpg-largeIt’s official: Zenefits is coming back to Utah! Today (April 13th), Governor Gary Herbert signed a law ending Utah’s ban on Zenefits—making it clear that the Beehive State supports innovation, technology and competition. This law reaffirms Utah’s commitment to supporting innovative companies—even when they disrupt existing industries.

Now, businesses in Utah will, once again—and for free, just like all the other states—be able to use Zenefits to manage their HR and benefits. This is a huge victory, not only for Utah’s businesses, but for Utah’s continued growth as an American tech hub. I experienced the incredible energy of Utah’s tech community when I spoke at StartSLC back in January, and it’s really exciting to be able to work with other new startups and established tech firms in the “Silicon Slopes.”

I want to personally acknowledge Governor Gary Herbert, Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox, Representative John Knotwell and Senator Curtis Bramble. They are committed leaders who stood by the importance of tech to Utah’s economic growth, and their dedication to this cause truly made the victory possible. I also want to recognize the thousands of Utahns who contacted their representatives and spoke out against the ban on Zenefits.

Over the past four months, our online petitions received 5,700+ signatures, and so many business owners reached out to us, eager to sign up for our service. Well, the wait is over. The ban has been lifted. We’re thrilled to be back, and we look forward to helping Utah’s people ease the administrative burden of running their businesses.

To everyone who fought for innovation and competition in Utah, we thank you.
