Packaging on Fleek: The Hottest Colors for Spring 2015

There are two things I love about spring.

One, I can finally go out and enjoy what Florida’s beautiful beaches and two, I can walk out of the house decorated in bright colors without shame!

Hey, cut me some slack! I’m still a girl after all and what girl could resist a great spring color palette.

Pantone, the world-renowned authority on color, just released their official Spring 2015 color palette and of course, the media (and myself) ate it up.

Color Me Spring

Officially known as Spring 2015: En Plein Air, Pantone’s spring color palette embodies the cooler/softer side of the color spectrum:

Check out all the colors here >>

Think: retro coffee shop meets ethereal forest. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like my kind of place.

So, how can you incorporate these elements into your packaging concepts for Spring?

Color Swap

If your brand has multiple signature colors, try swapping or adding in one of Pantone’s spring-time hues from above.

Need a little help figuring out which color would best compliment your brand colors? Luckily for you I found this pretty rad color wheel online. The colors directly across from each other work best together.

Draw Inspiration from Nature

When I hear spring, I think: trees, leaves, flowers and feathers.

If you’re looking to brand your packaging around the season of change, then try experimenting with natural elements.

Take a look at this Starbucks cup design by Goze Ekim.

She does a great job at merging natural elements with modern landscapes while keeping the color scheme light and playful.

Plus think of all the epic Instagram pictures. The possibilities would be endless!

Au Naturale

Spring time brings about a sense of simplicity and health and many people become reinvigorated to focus on their health.

Diana Quenomoen must of had this in mind when she designed this packaging concept for Northern Spring’s bottled water:

The teal-tinged glass and natural cork cap perfectly plays up to the young health conscious market. Plus, the colors fall in line with Pantone’s collection making them relevant and trendy to the buyer.

Is it safe to say this packaging design by Diana Quenomoen #KilledIt?

Now that we got your creative juices flowing, get out there and start creating seasonal packaging designs that could help spotlight your company against the competition. We’d be happy to print them for you.

Until next time,

-Kris
