Hey DIVERTFAM!

We are so stoked to be bringing you the latest and greatest on what is good with the development of DIVERT, and the impending launch of the DIVERTsessions project!
There has been no shortage of things to do and manage to get prepared for this launch, but we are so stoked on what we've been able to build and create. Seeing the brand really come alive in a variety of ways has gotten us really hyped, and since you made it possible, we wanted to make sure you are caught up and able to enjoy the excitement with us!

Below we have outlined the updates to the project development that set us up for launch and operations, as well as an update on when and where we plan to launch the DIVERT Pop-Up.

DIVERTSESSIONS LAUNCH DATE AND LOCATION

  • DIVERTsessions had our "First Look" review with the City of Santa Ana last Thursday to allow the various City departments to review our initial project package submittal and give us clear feedback on what each department needed to see, which should help expedite the overall review process.
  • During the meeting, the vast majority of their requirements had been met with the information we submitted. We are now putting together the final architectural plans with their final notes, getting it stamped by a California licensed architect, and submitting to the City for official review.
  • After meeting the Principal Planner at the City of Santa Ana sent us a welcoming and encouraging note. "It was a pleasure connecting with you and your team last Thursday, and it was great to see the preview package that you shared with our Development Review Committee members. Given the supportive zoning for the site, you should be able to call Santa Ana home upon successful completion of plan check, construction/setup, and inspections. We look forward to working with you through this process." - Ali 
  • As a result, we are focusing the majority of our efforts on the Santa Ana opportunity as it seems to have a more engaged and supportive City. Another HUGE discovery is that once we make it through the Plan Check in Santa Ana, our use is permitted forever. This means that we do not need to shut down after 6-months. If things are going well, we can extend and continue to grow the business and make impact in the community. As a result, we have included an option to extend our lease with MainPlace Mall as well.
  • We are still parallel pathing the Del Amo opportunity as a safe guard and will continue to do so until we have our approvals in hand and the lease is signed!
  • As of right now, we are targeting a late Spring/Early Summer launch date in Santa Ana.

DIVERTSESSIONS PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

  • As we continue to manage the City process, we are also pushing forward on many of the project development assets required for a successful pre-sale, launch and operation.
  • DIVERTSESSIONS WEBSITE IS LIVE: As you will see, this is a culmination of A LOT of thought, design and work. Not only does it inform customers of our offering via text and video explainers, it tells our brand story, gives information on our brand partners, and most importantly allows people to purchase merchandise (final page that is still work in progress) and pre-sale tickets!
  • Ticketing Platform: We have set up our ticketing platform that allows us to accept payments. This link takes you to a test version of the checkout flow in case you want to check it out for yourself and give us any feedback. (If you want to see the real thing it's live on our website, just click any of the "Buy A Sessions" buttons.)
  • DIVERTSESSION CHALLENGES APP: We are SO hyped on this, and so are all of our brand partners. We are in the final rounds of alpha testing, and we are about to release for Beta testers (we would love for you to be one!)
  • DIVERTsessions Awareness Campaign Launch: We have already started, and plan to continue on-going awareness and guerrilla style marketing tactics for the DIVERTsessions park. This includes on-going social media posts, challenges in the DIVERTapp, contests via Gleam.io, livestream services at local skateparks, press releases and more. For now we are keeping the messaging broad like "Coming to Southern California this summer" and releasing new hype drops of information until grand opening! Activities will really kick off on April 6th, so keep an eye out!
  • All of our marketing assets for digital paid ads and other assets are finalized and ready for kick-off! If you don't already, go follow-us on Instagram, YouTube and more @divertsessions.
