Hello TDC friends!

We're very quickly approaching the final moment when this funding campaign closes. The official deadline is:

Thursday, December 31st @midnight (EST)

While we're still only about $8000 from our minimum goal, we have some last-minute financial help on the way that will get us past the finish line. However, that still means that every dollar from other potential investors helps. Even after this We Funder campaign wraps in four days, we'll still continue to try to increase our budget (as much as $150k) through the winter/spring until we start production.

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT PRODUCTION AND INVESTORS?

Since this current funding round/We Funder campaign has only met the minimum requirements for the movie's budget, it means altering our approach in production. That translates to, among other things, a smaller crew, fewer shooting days and working with only local Seattle talent instead of casting more prominent, out-of-town actors. That unfortunately means that unless we're able to get closer to our funding goals (another $25k or so), we probably won't be able to include any of our current actor attachments in our cast.

Does this mean the movie's quality or success takes a hit? In my estimation, a little yes and a little no. Name actors can obviously bring more attention to a movie and more shooting days can allow  more time to improve scenes. But especially in horror however, it doesn't always equate to a "better" movie (which is subjective anyway) or better financial returns. Movies are always a sum of its parts and if we can well redesign production to fit a smaller budget, we can still maximize our ability to have a great film and be successful.

The good news for investors
of course is your investment value will also increase drastically. Your $1000 investment (for ex.) that was once worth .33% equity would instead be worth 1% (give or take a minor variation). This sample equity scenario would only reach its maximum appreciation if funding doesn't increase.

OUR CURRENT SCHEDULE

COVID has certainly affected our ability to rigidly plan production but assuming things don't take a turn for the worse (again) in regards to lock-downs, we're starting pre-production on or around May 1, 2021 with a filming start date around August 1, 2021. This allows for a few months of hopeful reduction in COVID risk while also getting us through the Seattle cold seasons in time for a mid-summer shoot. This will put us at roughly a mid 2022 release.

If you have any questions or concerns about this slightly altered course we're taking, please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected]. Our investors are the lifeblood of this project and it's important you feel comfortable with how we proceed in regards to budget and schedule. We promise to do the absolute most with the film funds we're provided and give you a final piece you can be proud of!
