Ted briefly mentioned also charging for private chats. I did not recall private chats mentioned in the materials I read prior to my initial investment.
I am thinking the seller might confirm the booking with a video (to assure the buyer it’s genuinely going to be the seller chatting - and perhaps a keepsake): “Hello, [buyer]! I look forward to our chat on [date time]!”. I am looking forward to hearing more about the private chats.
I just doubled my investment. Go get ‘em and Happy Holidays! :)
Thanks for doubling your investment. Yes, all chats are private 1:1 to start. We want to reduce the effort required by influencers to earn extra money and provide value, but you're right, buyers also want to be sure of the seller's identity. A lowe effort solution is to verify their links to social media accounts they claim to own. A backup solution is recording all calls for dispute resolution—e.g. if the buyer finds the seller is not who they claim to be, a recording will solve this issue quickly.
Very good interview and discusson.
This is a fun interview. My favorite parts were the stories at the beginning about Ted's pack of middle school friends obsessed with the Apple I/II, how he met Steve, and the tail end where they talk about the future of social media. What was your favorite part?
