Perrone Robotics is proud to announce our most recent autonomous vehicle delivery. With this delivery, a new era in autonomous transit has begun. Perrone Robotics has delivered the GreenPower Motor Company’s EV Star, outfitted with Perrone Robotics’ TONY autonomous vehicle (AV) retrofit kit, to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) in Florida.

And with that, an “AV Star” is born.

Jacksonville Transportation Authority led by Nat Ford with a world class team have a bold vision for the future of autonomous transit. Perrone Robotics is humbled and pleased to play a part in helping realize this vision along with our partners at GreenPower Motor Company Inc.

The AV Star is the world's first fully autonomous, all electric, ADA compliant, FMVSS compliant, Altoona tested, with Buy American compliance on path transit van. The AV Star is able to travel on public roads with a maximum speed of 65 mph. These are all important and critical features for transit authorities across the nation. These are also all important features driven by the vision for the future of autonomous transit established by the JTA in their Ultimate Urban Circulator (U2C) program.

Roomy and loaded with plenty of passenger seating capacity, the AV Star is the most comfortable and beautiful vehicle with autonomous life and zero emissions in which we at Perrone Robotics have ridden.
