It’s been a hectic, fast and furious 2020—and we’re ready to tackle whatever lies ahead in 2021. I’d love to do a video on this (I still may) but I figured I’d just type it out instead.
For those of you who joined our mission last year—thank you so much for your endless support, well-wishes, belief in what we’re doing and just fueling this freight train of impact. 🙏
It’s now time to repay that trust with some results. So let’s get to it. 💯
Here are some highlights on what we accomplished since launching in April:
- We became the fastest real estate startup to hit $1M in micro-shares sold. (Read Yahoo Finance here.) ✔️
- Completed TEMPLE I, our student housing building in Philly—on time, on budget and in time for 2021 lease-outs. 🦾
- Helped 2000+ people of color become first-time real estate owners. 🥂 (Read TechCrunch here why we are doing this.)
- Increased our (well, YOUR) assets under management to over $250M 🚀 (Read Commercial Observer here.)
- Launched TRIBE, our invite-only millionaire-making wealth lab for our investor community, followers and their extended network. 🤑
- Acquired managing ownership stakes in 1487 apartments across five properties in San Antonio, Austin, TX, Jacksonville and a high rise in Virginia Beach 🔥
- Closed a deal to develop over $477M of apartment complexes across the country—all of which will be made available for YOU GUYS to invest in first. 💰 (.)
- Brought on media mogul and president of by433.com—the largest content creator on Instagram—Danny Cortenraede as our Chief Commercial Officer. 🙌
- Partnered with Danny and the Adidas Family (yes, that one) on future investments in early-stage startups. 💡
- Submitted our app REiFY, which has gotten nice pre-launch reviews from finance media. They actually called it the “Robinhood of real estate.” 📲 (Read here.)
- A partnership with LEX to offer a Nasdaq-powered real estate trading platform via our app. Read TechCrunch on WHY here. 😍
- Secured $30M in micro-loans from top banks to issue to YOU GUYS for larger investments. (More details TBA.) 👊
To be honest, there are some highlights that we’re missing because all this FIRE is kinda getting redundant. (I kid, I kid! 😄)
But trust me when I say, myself and the team are working TIRELESSLY for ALL OF YOU to ensure our mission of creating 100K Millionaires comes to fruition before our 2030 deadline.
EXECUTIVE UPDATES: We’ve been making moves behind the scenes as well. When you get to a certain point and if you want to be the best, you have to get the best specialists to allow for that.
We’ve brought on top securities lawyer Kendall Almerico as our de facto Chief Compliance Officer to build out our Investor Relations infrastructure AS WELL AS to increase our investment volume.
For 2020, our cap was $1.07M. Kendall’s job is to increase that to $75M for 2021, to be exact.
We’re in talks with others who are total game changers (trust me, we don’t bring ham-and-eggers into the fold) to bring in real estate and to build out new products like TRIBE.
On the auditing side, we’ve retained HCVT, a Top 50 CPA firm with extensive experience with IPOs, real estate companies and tax advisory on the highest of levels.
My directive to them was simple: “Treat us like you did the $10B+ companies and hold us to those standards. And then make sure you take those best-practices and make them ours.”
My vision is to have all of us (color, nationality, religion, be damned!) on Times Square as we IPO in a history-making moment—CREATING a memory our grandchildren can tell theirs.
That is my dream.
Thank you for a very interesting 2020. 2021 is next—and just imagine what we can pull off in a normal world.
