Critical ecosystems around the world are rapidly disappearing. These ecosystems provide vital services like carbon sequestration and climate stabilization, while maintaining species diversity and, in some cases, livelihoods for the indigenous peoples who care for them.

Climate Action Now is pleased to announce it has partnered with Conserve.org to help protect these ecosystems. Conserve.org works with local nonprofits to identify land suitable for conservation, and the Climate Action Now supports that work through education and directing users to the Conserve.org website where they can purchase and preserve forever an acre of threatened land, often for less than $100.

An example of a conservation project is the Northern Highlands, one of the last large, intact and unprotected cloud forests in Central America, located in the highlands of western Guatemala.

This cloud forest can be protected at a cost of $84 an acre.

Purchases are tax-exempt, and can be gifted in the name of family, friends, or in one’s own name as a legacy action.
