Why is Impact Investing Important?

Meg is the Chief Relationship Officer at CoPeace. Her role and passions center around serving people, solving problems, and achieving goals.

Traditional investing focuses on bottom line profit alone. It fails to look deeper at its impact, as many of these investments either gloss over or inflict harm upon communities and the planet.

Impact investing focuses on multiple bottom lines, balancing profits and the planet, environment, and people. Unfortunately, most private investments are only offered to accredited investors and institutions (read: rich people).

That’s where CoPeace comes in. For us, the people and the planet are just as important as profits—integral to a sustainable, equitable future. Stakeholder capitalism, in which businesses are designed to add value to society in multiple ways, works for the benefit of all stakeholders, including customers, employees, shareholders, and communities. Such an approach values sustainability, fairness, transparency, and environmental and social impact. Plus, we’re democratizing the impact investing space by offering our private investment vehicle to investors of all income and experience levels.
