Today we formalized our relationship with Savannah State University, an HBCU located in Savannah, Georgia. The cooperative will consist of Savannah Sauce Company creating a sauce and the students of the school of business marketing that sauce to retailers. Savannah Sauce Company will provide a turn-key solution  for the student-run company. The students will design the label for the sauce. Tracey and I will conduct non-academic lectures aimed at inspiring the students and giving them a realistic view of entrepreneurship. As mentioned before, the revenues that are generated will go towards creating competitive micro grants for the students in the school of business to fund their own businesses and provide additional resources to enhance their academic experiences. This cooperative is a mechanism to allow the students to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. The students will gain self-reliance, social responsibility and purpose . There will be a school-wide competition for naming the sauce and creating the label design. Dr. Sudesh Mujundar, dean of the school of  business, suggested having the students create a documentary on the inception of the bootstrap program.  We feel that this cooperative will energize the entire campus.
