It's well know that seniors, that have cats and dogs as companions, are happier, healthier and live longer. We are working with two new partners; Ellipsis Health (depression analysis) and Klaatch (loneliness analysis) on a digital companion prototype called Hazel. The goal is to have Hazel act as a talking companion who can also detect changes in health, communicate with the users health team and even operate smart home devices. You may be surprised to learn that Hazel is completely synthetic. Her artist, Armenia based Andranik, happens to be the most talented feline animator on the planet. He is working to give Hazel life and nuance... all amidst a war in his country that has displaced his family. Andranik, and the rest of the SapientX team are passionate about bringing not only the best conversational system to the market, but also the most engaging characters.
