Americans Getting Back to Work

As so many Americans have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, SideHustle has been actively monitoring the macro-economic and employment, and with the detailed metrics that we capture, we have been able to correlate these changes as they are occurring in the American marketplace. The SideHustle indicators have shown that Americans had shifted their usage patterns during the 3 week period between April 6th and May 1st of this year. The engagement during this period shifted from our standard peak usage window of 12 hours, normally from 9 am EST to 9 pm EST, to a more scattered usage window which spread out usage over an 18-hour window, as more users were engaging from home. This period correlated with the 50 state Stay-at-Home orders which were in effect across the country.

In the most recent analysis of our SideHustle indicators for the period May 4th to May 29th, we have found that the window has started coalescing back to the standard 12-hour window of peak usage and engagement, as more Americans are getting back to work at their places of business during standard business hours. We have an increased engagement with the local established, brick-and-mortar service providers and have exceeded our pre-pandemic levels of activity on the app in the last week of May.

At SideHustle, we stand behind the American workforce and economy and are honored to be a part of the re-opening of America.

Stay safe,

Alex
