KAZOO APP IS NOW RapidSOS READY: SENDS CRITICAL DATA TO 911 IN AN EMERGENCY

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (May 20, 2020) – Starting in June 2020, the Kazoo app will be certified as RapidSOS Ready. This means that users are ready in an emergency to share life-saving information with local first responders through the RapidSOS emergency response data platform

Kazoo is excited to announce a partnership with RapidSOS to share profile information with 911 personnel in an emergency through the Kazoo app and allow loved ones to connect to 911 on a user’s behalf if they are unable to speak. Built in partnership with Public Safety, RapidSOS’s emergency response data platform securely and automatically links life-saving data from connected devices directly to over 4,700 emergency communications centers nationwide.

Michael Martin, CEO of RapidSOS said, “Together with innovative companies like Kazoo certified as RapidSOS Ready, we’re providing people with an added layer of safety and security and we’re supporting our heroic first responders in saving millions of lives annually.”

The nation’s 911 infrastructure was built in the 1960s for landline phones, requiring individuals to verbally speak their information and what’s occurring to 911 personnel in an emergency. This partnership allows Kazoo users to share critical data directly with 911 in an emergency through the RapidSOS platform and empower loved ones to connect to 911 on the user’s behalf. This data helps 911 centers accelerate response and provides first responders with the critical data they need to better care for people in emergency situations.

We’re united in our commitment to create a safer, stronger future where technology and people work together seamlessly to protect and save lives,” said Peter J. Goodman, President and Cofounder at Kazoo. “Empowering our users with the option to share critical information directly with 911 through RapidSOS’s data platform is a game changer.”

To ensure data privacy, information is only made available to first responders when a 911 call is placed. 911 centers who don’t yet have access to RapidSOS can sign up for free at www.rapidsosportal.com.
