Last night I watched the latest cut of our feature and I couldn't help but notice the giant grin residing on my face. I laughed at jokes I've seen dozens (okay, probably hundreds) of times and was moved by scenes I've been picking apart for weeks. For that hour and a half, my spirits felt lifted and I was transported. I truly believe films can lift us up and I know that we need movies now more than ever. I'm so excited to share this project with the world.
True to our film’s message, Beatriz, Matt, and I are filled with optimism for the future. It’s a feeling that is in rare supply these days, but it is a sentiment that we are excited to pay forward in the form of our film.
In these final days of our fundraising campaign (Weds April 29th, 9 PST/12 EST), we have seen a tremendous outpouring of enthusiasm and support. People are searching for alternative forms of investment, as well as comfort. We’re offering a solution to both problems with What Are You Doing New Year’s?
During this time of self-isolation, we’ve found solace in watching our favorite films, whether that’s Trolls 2 on repeat, Tiger King, or old faves (Titanic really holds up!) we’re all streaming more content than ever.
Unfortunately, in light of COVID-19, Hollywood has been shut down along with so many other businesses, and new entertainment will be in short supply in the coming months. Which is why we’re so fortunate to have already completed principal photography and to be in the post-production phase of our film.
