Wefunder supports three different federal laws that allow startups to raise money legally. To comply with the law, Wefunder Advisors LLC and Wefunder Portal LLC (both owned by Wefunder Inc) also list startups depending on the regulation used.
Legal May 16th 2016
Regulation Crowdfunding
Wefunder Portal LLC
$155,973,649
for 465 startups
Legal Now
Regulation D
Wefunder Advisors LLC
$45,330,343
for 127 startups
Rare
Regulation A+
Wefunder Inc
$9,738,984
for 3 startups
Curious how well the companies have done? Or how many raised follow-on financing?
Some fine print: 1) These numbers include startups currently live on Wefunder if they pass their minimum target. 2) Some startups use two different laws at the same time (i.e., Regulation D and Regulation Crowdfunding).
when can we start making money ?
Howdy Steve - good to hear from you. The release has been greatly delayed due to the theatrical release being canceled due to Covid-19 shutdowns. We have had a a VOD release and cable, and just this week we are now releasing our home video in DVD and Blu Ray release. Filmmaking finances are very slow to come in traditionally and frustratingly slow this year with production and reporting delays. Not only do we have home video coming out now in all major box stores online, but we also have international sales starting next month. So we are very hopeful and will try to update you and the other investors more often.

Glad we are still releasing, timing unfortunate but the show must go on.
As for Netflix, I typed the term “heroin” in Netflix search and our movie “Shooting Heroin” comes up as the second tool tip. Whatever algorithm they are using for Netflix search ranking ranks our movie high for the word “heroin”. Once, I click on “Shooting Heroin”, it displays titles related to “Shooting Heroin”. None of the items in the list are really related though to our movie topic wise. Anyway, if we do eventually get on Netflix, hopefully they would pay a decent amount for the license. Our movie is pretty unique from anything else they have on their service today and think the Netflix audience will enjoy it.
Excellent - Heather and I need something to watch to redeem the time we spent on Tiger King.
Wonderful news!!!!
Talk about timing...couldn't be better. We'll likely never have this many folks at home with nothing to do but stream movies. It's unfortunate we're not on the major streaming platforms, but there's still some moderately popular platforms on this list. Fingers crossed... :)
can i preorder it on iTunes or do i need to wait till 12:01 on friday?
That’s great news well done! Can it be on Netflix too ?
