Overview

Here are the companies we have invested to date and their latest status.

Boom supersonic (YC W16)

Boom is building an affordable supersonic aircraft. It is a 40-seat plane for business travel with a maximum speed of Mach 2.2, making it the fastest passenger aircraft. They closed their $100m Series B in early 2019, bringing their total funding to $141m. Laurene Powell Jobs’ Emerson Collective led their round and included the Y Combinator Continuity Fund, Caffeinated Capital, and SV Angel. They just announced they became the first company to launch the first fully carbon-neutral aircraft program!

Jelly Labs

Jelly Labs is building useful research tools for scientists. The founders' first company, Experiment (YC W13), helped fund the next wave of scientific research, and they are using what they learned to make the scientists' process from idea to publication more efficient, transparent, and fun.

Phenomix Sciences

Phenomix Sciences is a Mayo Clinic startup personalizing weight loss. The company creates a blood test for people seeking to lose weight and identifies which treatment options are best for each patient. They closed their $1m seed round after winning $500k at the MEDA Million Dollar Challenge.

Upcoming Investments

The majority of this fund is still undeployed. We expect to make a large number of investments in startups tackling the coronavirus over the next few months, alongside our Pandemic Fund.
