Earlier this week I was teaching Dan to use WhatsApp. It was a relatively painless process, because Dan already knows how to text. WhatsApp is very popular both in the U.S. and especially outside of the U.S., so it's a good addition to Dan's skills.
There was a funny moment, though. Before we go live with WhatsApp integration, we are using a sandbox (i.e. testing environment) shared by multiple developers. As I was going through the steps, I have realized that Dan would try to introduce itself to everyone who sends messages through the same sandbox! It's too early for us, but it's fun to have a product that tries to market itself :)
Wefunder supports three different federal laws that allow startups to raise money legally. To comply with the law, Wefunder Advisors LLC and Wefunder Portal LLC (both owned by Wefunder Inc) also list startups depending on the regulation used.
Legal May 16th 2016
Wefunder Portal LLC
for 341 startups
Wefunder Advisors LLC
for 105 startups
for 3 startups
Curious how well the companies have done? Or how many raised follow-on financing?
Some fine print: 1) These numbers include startups currently live on Wefunder if they pass their minimum target. 2) Some startups use two different laws at the same time (i.e., Regulation D and Regulation Crowdfunding).
