A couple weekends ago I attended WordCamp US in St Louis with our Platform Sales Engineer, Joe Cress. WordCamp US is the largest gathering of WordPress companies and contributors in the United States. This year the attendance exceeded 1,300 people from all over the world. We had a great time connecting with other contributors, users, and entrepreneurs. I left the conference feeling more encouraged than ever that WordPress is set for massive growth over the next 3-5 years. We met with service companies like GoWP and NerdPress who specialize in WordPress maintenance packages and also met great product companies like WS Forms, Termageddon, and WP Feedback as well as a ton of world class freelancers and agencies like Maddy Osman. I want to give a special shoutout to Topher Derosia who runs HeroPress, a wonderful site about how WordPress is changing the world through personal stories. Topher and his wife Cate were instrumental in introducing us to so many amazing people.

The last day of WordCamp was Contributor Day and both Joe and I participated in the Hosting group. WordPress is driven by over 1,500 individuals who contribute each year in the area of Core, Marketing, Documentation, Hosting, and many other aspects of the product and supporting ecosystem. The Hosting group is made up of specialists from GoDaddy, LiquidWeb, Kinsta, WP Engine, Siteground, now Convesio, and many more. Our goal is to ensure the hosting industry adopts and defines the best practices for hosting WordPress.

Convesio is officially participating in the WordPress initiative called Five for the Future, which encourages organizations to contribute 5% of their resources to WordPress development. We have started working towards the goal of pledging 5% of our time to contribute and support the WordPress community. We look forward to helping shape the future of WordPress hosting!
