Panthers: James Maloney will back up from Origin III and his halves partner Nathan Cleary (ankle) has been named among the reserves. A final decision on Cleary will be made on Friday. Back-rower Liam Martin was ruled out on Thursday with a quad injury suffered at training. His place in the starting side is taken by Frank Winterstein and Jed Cartwright comes on to the bench. After coming off the bench in the round 15 win over the Warriors, Dean Whare moves into the centres allowing Isaah Yeo to revert to the back row. Kaide Ellis was omitted 24 hours before kick-off.

Titans: Tyrone Peachey was initially slated to return via the bench but is now looking at round 18 against the Storm. Dale Copley takes Jesse Arthars' place in the centres, while Jarrod Wallace shifts to lock and Jack Stockwell has been elevated to the starting line-up. Jai Whitbread and Will Matthews have both dropped back to the bench. Leilani Latu and Arthars were omitted 24 hours before kick-off.

The bye week came at the wrong time for Penrith who made it five wins in a row in their last outing with a dramatic victory over New Zealand Warriors and they will hope that they can maintain their recent good form as they host Gold Coast.

Nathan Cleary was expected to miss out once again for the Panthers but he is a surprise inclusion amongst the reserves but the availability of his usual partner in the halves could is up in the air with Penrith waiting to see how James Maloney pulls up after appearing in Origin.

Dean Whare returned from injury against the Warriors last time out but he was only named on the bench and will slot back in to his usual spot in the centres here with Isaah Yeo reverting to his preferred position in the back row which also sees Frank Winterstein drop to the bench.
