The Austrian takes on the legendary Rafael Nadal in a repeat of last year's final.

Rain delays mean the Spaniard - who is chasing a 12th triumph at Roland Garros - has had an extra day to rest after getting past old foe Roger Federer in his semi-final match on Friday.

But Thiem will be determined to get revenge for last year's straight sets defeat and secure his first grand slam title.

Nadal may have turned 33 earlier this month, showing that he is approaching the latter stages of his career. But there are no signs of any decline in his physicality, nor performance.

The Spaniard has dropped a set only once in the entire tournament - in the four-set win over David Goffin - and he has been a class above everyone else at Roland Garros so far.

The manner in which he left Roger Federer looking helpless on Philippe-Chatrier is something only Nadal can do. Djokovic has beaten Federer but never like that. Murray has, but never like that.

He's won 11 straight matches on clay - having won the Rome Masters - and it's difficult to see Dominic Thiem stopping him from winning his 82nd career title, as well as his 12th at the French Open.
