I'm writing today from sunny Florida. The International Deli Dairy and Baker Association choose Florida in summer as the location for this years show. While that might not make sense to you, my wife and kids think it is great (probably because they are running through mangroves looking for alligators while I type.)
While they play I am here getting ready for our second big B2B trade show of the year. before we get to that I am happy to report that Bruce and Alex came back from the NRA show with 200 prime new customer leads and 3 new program initiatives with some existing customers. We do not count our piglets before they... oink, but based on previous experience, this volume in the funnel should have big results. Our Abundantly Good Spiced Tomato Jam was the clear favorite among existing customers who are looking for toppers for the trending meat alternatives. Bacon jams were still the head turner for new leads.
Since launching the Abundantly Good Spiced Tomato Jam we have raised $1,800 for Philabundance by giving back $1 per jar sold. These are rookie numbers! We will be promoting the more throughout this year and I am happy to announce that it will be featured at the XPN Festival in Philadelphia along with Philabundances other branded products. We will also be expanding our Love Park Christmas Village presence this year to show case more of the Abundantly Good Line with the help of Philabundance's amazing crew.
Revenue is up year to date by 17%. This is mainly in the sales to grocery and gourmet stores, but we also just saw an up tick in food service sales as well. On the retail side Elaine and Alex are as much to blame as anyone. Elaine has been working the traditional routes of calling and emailing prospects while Alex has been generating leads through guerrilla social media campaigns and sophisticated email marketing. On the Food Service side Wendy Carey and her team at Creative Cuisine Sales, our mid Atlantic brokers, are the prime culprits. Wendy has recently brought in 50 new restaurant accounts including several who will be using the TBJ Gourmet logo on their menus!
QVC has invited us back on for another run in early June. Stay tuned for a date, we will always need support spreading the word about our airings.
If you are not following us on facebook you will have missed my first attempt at a facebook live stream from a B2B events at the Collingswood May Fair. I will be live again this Saturday with Elaine at the IDDBA show in Orlando where we will be presenting our goods to the industrie's top Deli and Cheese buyers. Be sure to share.
I will have a more numbers driven update next week after the dust has settled from the show. Until then be sure to share this campaign https://tbjgourmet.com/pages/invest-in-tbj-gourmet far and wide. We are almost at our goal and we fully intend to run through the finish line.
