Artists, designers, and manufacturers alike have been eyeing 3D technology as a means to evolve their work in exciting ways. Ganit Goldstein, a fashion designer from Israel, is a perfect example -- she has revolutionized her industry by combining traditional design methods with state-of-the-art 3D tech. Goldstein uses “Ikat,” an ancient Japanese weaving technique, to make shoes; she then elevates these hand-woven designs by using a Stratasys 3D printer to create uniquely-shaped soles. “Stratasys’ advanced 3D printing technology provides me with the unrestricted ability to print my designs in any colour, form and complexity,” she said. “This collection was designed to shatter traditional limitations by using the unique capabilities of 3D printing to innovate fashion design as we know it.” Limitless creative freedom is just one of the many benefits of accessible 3D tech - we look forward to seeing where it will take us next!
