The Lions and Sharks have taken contrasting approaches to their Super Hero Sunday Super Rugby warm-up.The men from Johannesburg head down to Cape Town intent on fielding no fewer than nine Springboks in a team led by Warren Whiteley.Halfback Louis Schreuder leads a Sharks team that may be young but is also full of exciting young talents.The return of Bok outside back Lukhanyo Am has seen hard-tackling centre Jeremy Ward relegated to the bench. Ward was a big part of the Sharks Currie Cup triumph last season and could still make an impact from coming off the bench.The Lions dynamic hooker Malcolm Marx will pose a real threat to the Sharks, not only in the scrum but also at the breakdown. At his best Marx acts almost as an extra loose forward for the Lions, he is also a fine carrier of the ball.

Dan du Preez is the only member of the Sharks starting pack of forwards to have earned a Springbok cap. His equally bruising brother Jean-Luc du Preez picked up an injury turning out for the Sale Sharks in the Premiership and is likely to miss the start of the Super Rugby season.
