The Spartans never trailed in their Sweet 16 matchup with LSU, winning 80-63 after freshman Aaron Henry (the one-time subject of Tom Izzo’s rage) scored 20 points to lead the team.While Mike Krzyzewski is 11-1 in his career against Izzo, it is worth noting that Izzo is extremely good at getting his team ready to play on a short turnaround. Since taking the Spartans to the tournament for his first appearance in 1998, Izzo’s teams have gone 22-6 when they have less than 48 hours to prepare for their next opponent, which could be a bad sign for Duke.
