Sydney Roosters halfback Cooper Cronk and hooker Jake Friend have been ruled out of their side's clash with the Manly Sea Eagles on Saturday night.

Cronk withdrew due to hamstring tightness while Friend is unavailable because of a shoulder niggle sustained in round one.Cronk is expected to be available for selection in round three but a determination is yet to be made on Friend.Victor Radley shifts to hooker to cover Friend and Isaac Liu moves from the bench to fill Radley's lock position.Rookie pivot Lachlan Lam will make his NRL debut as Cronk's replacement.Lam is the son of former Roosters playmaker and current Wigan Warriors coach Adrian.The 20-year-old has long been earmarked as a future NRL player, garnering hype as he progressed through the junior ranks at the Roosters.He recently inked a two-year extension at the Bondi club and is tipped to earn a permanent spot in the halves once Cronk retires.Lam impressed in the Canterbury Cup for the Roosters' feeder side North Sydney last weekend, laying on two try assists and running for 113 metres in wet conditions.Defending NRL premiers Sydney are searching for their first competition points of 2019 against Manly after going down to arch-rivals the Rabbitohs to start the year.
