## Story
Treefort Music Fest is a force for community building and creative empowerment in Boise, Idaho and beyond. We are seeking financial support by way of a community ownership offering to see us through COVID-19 shutdowns and secure the future of our festival. Treefort surviving this moment will prove to be a crucial engine for sparking the broader recovery for Boise and the cultural ecosystem around the Pacific Northwest.Treefort is more than a music festival. Since its inception in 2012, Treefort has been a conduit for creators and the creative vibrancy of Boise. Treefort continually sparks enthusiasm and kinetic activity for Boise’s music, arts, and creative industries. It is a hub and multiplier of creative capital, as well as an economic driver for downtown Boise and the community at large. An investment in Treefort’s recovery will be amplified across Boise’s creative ecosystem and broader economy for years to come."All of this allows Treefort to bring something to the table that other festivals can’t- empowerment. The team running the show isn’t a boardroom assigned by big donors. The showrunners are women, POC, queer folks who know that with intersectionality we all win. And this isn’t rooted in some misguided sense of duty. The world is diverse. Their dream is to capture that, to hopefully let those marginalized voices have the floor in some fashion. And what you wind up with is Treefort- a beautiful congregation of those deserving to be heard and those ready to listen." - The 405 Treefort has always invested in the community. Now, we need the community to invest in Treefort. Two weeks before our ninth annual festival, the pandemic caused us to postpone from March to September 2020, yet we had already paid for much of the festival. In effort to keep our community safe, Treefort 9 postponed a second time to September 2021. We intend to hold Treefort 10 in March 2022.Treefort invites its community to become part owners of the festival. This financial commitment will help us through the coming months and ensure our return in 2021, while continuing to help us bring meaningful programming to the Boise community at a time when it needs it most.Treefort put Boise on the map. Treefort has given a national voice to a local scene that was once invisible to the outside world, and thus, has helped Boise retain many aspiring artists and creatives. Treefort has put Boise on the map and has differentiated our city from similar markets in the region. For nearly a decade, Treefort has provided a platform to address worldly issues with intention, championed innovation, advocated for inclusivity and equity, held space for emotion and processing, and created opportunities to discover; all the while fostering a fun, happy, and safe experience in downtown Boise for people of all ages. From an entire Main Stage crowd shedding tears at Kate Tempest’s set in 2017, to shoulder-to-shoulder rooms filled with sweaty fans crowdsurfing and head bobbing to their new favorite bands, to the young musicians playing their first festival set, to the 25,000 people exploring the rising artistic communities in Boise through the forts of the fest — Treeforters have experienced it all and are better because of those experiences. Treefort pivots to stimulate the community. In 2011, Treefort planted a seed to bring energy to downtown Boise. By 2014, Treefort had grown to become a catalyst for economic and cultural activity, as recognized by being named the Cultural Ambassador for the City of Boise until 2017. In 2015, Treefort became the first-ever festival to receive B-Corp status. In 2016, Treefort helped found Boise All Ages Movement Project (B-AMP) with a mission of strengthening youth access to music and culture in Boise. Fast-forward to 2020, in the midst of postponing Treefort 9 and a global pandemic, Treefort did not go dormant; we immediately found ways to support our local ecosystem. Since March 2020, Treefort launched the CCC Fund alongside the Morrison Center and Boise City Department of Arts & History to provide relief and energy to 69 local creatives; started the Treefort Live Music Relief Fund to assist our local live music ecosystem; become an active partner in City of Good to support local restaurants and provide food to those who need it most; is serving as a leader and the voice of Idaho in a national effort to save independent live music venues; is active in anti-racism conversations within the greater Boise arts and culture community. ## FAQ
1. **What are the difference - in regards to perks - in becoming a Treefort Community Owner and Guardians of the Fort??**
 - Hey Ruben. Everyone that invests at the $100 minimum or above will be a Treefort Community Owner. Everyone that invests at the $500 level or above will be part of the Guardians of the Fort. The biggest difference for those in the Guardians of the Fort will be that there will be a discounted ticket option for them for all future Treeforts similar to the Locals Only pricing we have done in the past. Guardians will also have the opportunity to vote on some artist selections.
2. **Are investments tax deductible?**
 - Hey Michael. Investments as part of this Wefunder campaign are not tax deductible.
3. **So proud of TF for doing this, I love the festival! Quick question since I am not well-versed in startup/VC terminology.... what type of "class" is this investment? I read on the Wefunder FAQ's that there are 4 types (https://help.wefunder.com/#/returns) - which is TF?**
 - Hey Lael, thank you and great question. We are doing a "priced round" of Preferred Stock so that falls into the Stock, No Dividends category on the FAQ section you referenced.
4. **Any tips for investing as a couple? We both want to be involved. Are we better off making the investment together or separately?**
 - Hey Greg, I think that the only area of issue here would be with the perks. Those were designed with individuals in mind so depending on how much you two were considering contributing, it might make the most sense for you to invest separately so that you both can be included in specific perks. Happy to address this with more nuance if you have further questions about it, but hope this helps a bit.
5. **How does participating in the funding here differ than donating to the Treefort Community Fund?**
 - Hey Amanda! Investing through Wefunder is an opportunity to become part owner in Treefort LLC, which is the primary entity that operates and funds the festival. Treefort Community Fund is a 501c-3 we setup to help support our community through various efforts like Treefort Live Music Relief Fund, CCC Fund and other causes. A contribution to Treefort Community Fund is a tax deductible donation.

## Q&A
- Q: Howdy--curious if we're going to get a discount code for 2027 passes sometime soon. Thanks for putting together a rocking festival!
- Q: Is $105 (+fees) the minimum investment amount needed to get the $100 level perks? Shares are priced at $21 and only whole shares are sold so "intending to invest" $100 only buys 4 shares for an "Actual Investment Amount" of $84 (+fees).
 - A: Hey Jason, great question. If you put in $100 in the Invest field it will end up being 4 shares for $84 + fees, but you will still be credited with the $100 level perks. However, yes, if you bump to $105 you will get 5 shares and the fees will be on top of that.
- Q: How does participating in the funding here differ than donating to the Treefort Community Fund?
 - A: Hey Amanda!
- Q: GOODLUCK!
- Q: I can't find the original perks list, I was trying to figure out what I qualified for as we look at coming for 2023.
 - A: Hi Jennifer! Here are the original levels & perks. Please email me megan@treefortmusicfest.com if you need info on your specific level of investment. Thank you! COMMUNITY OWNER ($100-$500): + Treefort Community Owner sticker + Early access to tickets for all future Treeforts + Your name on treefortmusicfest.com (coming soon!) GUARDIANS OF THE FORT Level 1 ($500-$1,000): everything above.... + Discounted pricing offered for all Treeforts + Opportunity to vote on some artist selections (for the March 2022 festival) GUARDIANS OF THE FORT Level 2 ($1,000-$5,000): everything above.... + Guardians of the Fort insulated cold/hot steel cup + Invitation to one secret experience at each future Treefort GUARDIANS OF THE FORT Level 3 ($5,000+): everything above... + Guardians of the Fort jacket GUARDIANS OF THE FORT Level 4 ($10,000+): everything above... + Your own personalized Treefort character
- Q: Do we know when to expect the "Hangover Sale Starts NOW!" email? I don't see that it has already happened and eager to secure tickets to 2023. Thanks!
- Q: Hey Treefort team. Curious if there will be tax documents coming through WeFunder and/or mail? Thanks!
- Q: Hello. If you could send me the perks for my investment? My investment was above 1000usd. I believe I am supposed to get vip tickets for the event
- Q: Hi.I had invested and yet haven't received my 1000 usd perk
- Q: I really want to invest and I know I need to do so quickly, but I’m slightly confused about the vague language surrounding investor perks and I want to make sure I don’t miss out on something rad by not giving enough (and I really also want you guys to succeed because the memories we make at Treefort are just the best). With that in mind, know I appreciate any info and all your time to answer my questions. So here they are: 1. Do ticket discounts not apply unless I invest at the $500 level? 2. The email I received said I’d have to be an owner to get any future discounts on tickets or to have access to early tickets. Does that include the local priced tickets that are sold at the Record Exchange every year? If so, is there a minimum investment amount level needed to access those? And lastly, 3. If I invest, are these ticket perks a one time thing for Festival 9 only, or will they be a perk for the lifetime of the festival (or foreseeable future)? Again, you guys rock SO much and I appreciate any info you provide!
 - A: Hey Camy, $500 is the minimum amount to access the Owners Only discount. You will get that discount for every festival moving forward. That discount can only be applied to 1 ticket per owner per festival. If we do offer the Locals Only discounts again those will be in much smaller quantities than in previous years as the priority will go to the Owners group moving forward. I hope that helps!
- Q: just invested 100. do i get a discount on two tickets yet and if so how do i purchase them thank you
 - A: Hey Kim. The discounted tickets are for those that invest $500 or more. At the $100 level, you will get early access to tickets when they go on-sale. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to us at invest@treefortmusicfest.com
- Q: I've made two separate investments, and I'm concerned the second one didn't got through. Where can I check? Other than waiting for the bank transactions to post.
 - A: I am only seeing one under your name. Best way to check would be to email support@wefunder.com with any questions regarding your transactions.
- Q: I invested in the first round, and got an email in January about reconfirming (which I was happy to do) but the post also talked about getting info about tickets and our perks. I haven't heard anything about this since, so I wanted to check in on updates.
 - A: Hey Matthew. We have been sending these out in the last week. If you still haven't received an email or anything in the mail, please check in with us at invest@treefortmusicfest.com. Thank you for investing in Treefort!
- Q: We recently invested at the $5k level but when we received the confirmation - it showed at $4998. I don't want to get boned out of that pimpin' jacket because of a rounding error or number of shares bought with the site?! Please advise - mahalo!
 - A: Hey Beth! You'll be recognized at the $5k level. Thanks so much for investing in the future of Treefort! We will be in touch soon in regards to that pimpin' jacket. :)
- Q: Hi, I find this "reconfirming" thing a little confusing. It said I have already paid so what does reconfirming mean and why?
 - A: Hi Brijean! I know it's a bit confusing, but because we edited the closing date to March 31st, the SEC requires all previous investors to "reconfirm" their initial amount in order to close this first round. I hope that helps clarify things a bit. If you have additional questions, please email invest@treefortmusicfest.com. Thank you for your trust and ownership in Treefort!
