## Story
The Zone — MemoThe Zone is building the operating system for mental health and performance in sports. Our platform helps athletic organizations support the mental wellbeing and performance of their athletes at scale while giving athletes tools to manage the pressures of competition.Mental health challenges among athletes are increasing, yet most athletic programs lack the infrastructure to support them. Counseling centers are often understaffed, leaving athletes waiting weeks for support while coaches and administrators are expected to manage issues they are not trained to handle. As a result, mental health challenges are becoming not only a wellbeing issue, but also an operational and financial challenge for athletic programs. Operating system for Mental Hea…The Zone addresses this gap by providing athletes with a personalized mental wellness and performance platform accessible directly from their phones. Athletes can complete wellness check-ins, access personalized tools and routines, and receive guidance when they need it. At the same time, athletic departments gain access to anonymized insights that help them understand trends across their teams and intervene earlier when challenges arise.Over the past four years, The Zone has built and validated this platform with real athletic programs. Today, the platform is used by 230+ teams supporting more than 9,000 athletes, and the company has built a $6M qualified sales pipeline of organizations evaluating the product. Operating system for Mental Hea…The company operates on a B2B model, where athletic departments, conferences, and youth sports organizations purchase annual licenses to provide access to their athletes and staff. This approach allows organizations to scale mental health support across entire programs while avoiding the significant costs of expanding counseling staff. The next phase of the platform is Zone 2.0, which introduces an AI-powered layer designed to move mental health support from reactive to predictive. By analyzing behavioral patterns and engagement data, the platform will help identify athletes at risk earlier, provide personalized guidance, and deliver actionable insights to coaching and support staff. Operating system for Mental Hea…The Zone’s long-term vision is to become the foundational infrastructure for mental performance in sports—helping athletic organizations understand, predict, and improve the mental readiness of their athletes. As awareness around athlete mental health continues to grow and regulatory expectations evolve, The Zone is positioned to define how athletic programs approach mental performance over the next decade.

## Q&A
- Q: Hello - I'm a Psychiatrist (Primarily Child/Adolescent) and investor. Sports psychology has always been an interest of mine and particularly when Noom came along I wondered how long it would take for someone to take the approach that you are taking. I like the overall concept and direction you are going. My question is - why is there not yet a MD on your team? I like that your "Wellness Committee" has a RD, Psychologist, and research expert on it - but a MD seems to be the rather glaring omission. It would seem to me that adding a MD somewhere in your structure/team would give you more credibility when you approach schools, organizations, etc. Do you have plans to add a MD at some point? Thanks, Ken Pittman, MD
