## Story
Techless is creating an era of healthy tech for the 110 million Americans looking to cut back on screen time, disrupting the colossal $485 billion smartphone market. Our Wisephone is the first phone designed with mental health in mind. A perfect blend of the simplicity of a "dumb" phone and the convenience of a smartphone, the Wisephone comes equipped with carefully vetted third-party apps that empower users to take back their attention. With over $2M in revenue and a 99% WoW user retention rate, we bring a healthy, loveable alternative to today’s digitally-dependent world. Starting with phones, Techless is pioneering a healthy tech ecosystem that counters the addictive habits driven by today’s tech giants, redefining the technology landscape as we know it.Smartphones have profoundly reshaped our lives, embedded into every facet of daily existence–transforming how we live, work, and connect.Picture a typical subway train: rows of commuters with heads bowed, thumbs endlessly scrolling across glowing screens. At parties, friends stand together yet each is absorbed in their own digital world. Even in the family home, spaces once filled with conversation and connection have often devolved into both kids and parents engrossed in their devices. The design of smartphones is no accident. Big Tech is trapped by its own creation - the attention economy - and as a result, turns every notification, like, and share into a lure that keeps people coming back for more. This relentless demand funnels users into a perpetual cycle of consumption that benefits corporate interests at the expense of people’s attention, well-being, and quality of life.A significant and growing backlash against addictive smartphones has sparked demand for simpler devices, like flip phones, and the rise of the digital detox movement. However, these efforts overlook the convenience offered by modern smartphones. It’s not surprising that most users who go to a “dumb” phone find themselves going right back after a short break. Addressing this issue of respecting user wellbeing over corporate interests requires a shift towards technology that enhances, rather than detracts from, human connection and quality of life. At Techless, we believe technology should act as a bridge to connection, not as a barrier. The healthy tech revolution is here. The Techless Wisephone infuses intelligence, convenience, and mental wellbeing throughout its hardware and software. It's a smartphone with intentionally curated features, removing those that lead to addiction and leaving only the essentials that help users maintain productivity and peace of mind.Whether it's for work, staying connected with loved ones, or managing day-to-day tasks, Wisephone's curated features emphasize intentional use over impulsive interaction. Techless is redefining technology as a tool that serves us, not the other way around.Wisephone’s sleek design features premium glass and aluminum, offering a sophisticated appearance. Its 6.5" HD display enhances the user experience with vibrant visuals. Wisephone comes equipped with a triple-camera system, led by a 64MP primary sensor, for taking high-quality photos and videos. The device’s multi-day battery life keeps users connected without frequent recharging, complemented by USB-C fast charging for added convenience. With 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD, it meets all essential storage needs. The core experience of the Wisephone includes standard tools such as a clock, alarm, maps, music & podcasts, messaging, notes, and photos. Additionally, unlike other minimal phones, the Wisephone allows users to access many more applications through the Techless Tool Drawer. This platform offers a growing library of healthy, vetted third-party apps, including calendars, weather, two-factor authentication, and much, much more, growing regularly as users need. Users can still enjoy the beneficial tech associated with a smartphone, whether it's making phone calls to reconnect with a friend, streaming music or podcasts, or navigating to their next destination. Each app within the Techless Tool Drawer is rigorously verified in collaboration with the Healthy Tech Index, a comprehensive rating system to ensure that all available apps meet our stringent criteria for promoting healthy user experiences. At the heart of the Wisephone is its unique operating system, WiseOS, designed to minimize digital addiction while maximizing convenience. WiseOS is beautifully designed to be more respectful of your attention. It restricts access to certain proprietary functions, intentionally omitting internet browsers and social media platforms, while enabling the best of third-party applications and adding in features that boost their health factor with notification control and more to come in the future.WiseOS also prioritizes user privacy with a strict policy against scraping or selling personal information and as little reliance on big tech services as possible. We introduced Wisephone I as a proof of concept, leveraging off-the-shelf components to quickly bring our minimal viable product (MVP) to market. This approach has not only proven to be cost-effective but also allowed us to rapidly test and iterate based on real-world feedback. The response to the Wisephone blew us away, exceeding our expectations and affirming the product's viability and potential for growth. The success of this MVP has given us the market validation we needed to move forward with the white-labeled Wisephone II, set to launch this year. With Wisephone II, we have transitioned to a fully vertically integrated model, taking ownership of the entire product development and manufacturing process. This strategic shift grants us greater control over product quality, security, customization, and the overall user experience. The effect that Wisephone has on users is astounding - they report increased presence and focus, reduced anxiety, improved conversations, and greater intentionality in their daily lives. As it stands, the global smartphone market is valued at $485 billion and is projected to reach $793 billion by 2029.Smartphones have become indispensable in daily life, with over 7 billion devices used worldwide. However, with a growing awareness of the negative impact of excessive smartphone use, a significant shift in the market is emerging. This market currently has two options: basic feature phones (i.e. “dumb” phones) or complete digital detoxes, both of which overlook the reality of our internet-dependent world. We’re unlocking a new category in the booming market–a space where the convenience of technology aligns with the essential need for more connection. At this critical juncture, Techless is poised to capture a substantial share of the global smartphone ecosystem.Techless’ team blends seasoned entrepreneurs, tech aficionados, and strategic visionaries who are passionate about creating world-class consumer products that benefit the world.Their collective experience spans founding award-winning production companies, creating compelling brand strategies for century-old family businesses, leading teams for tech giants like Google, and engineering groundbreaking software and hardware solutions that impact billions of consumers and create billions of dollars in value.Wisephones are sold direct-to-consumer at an accessible price of $399, compared to the hefty $1,000+ price tags of smartphones, attracting a broad user base. The devices are built to last at least five years. This commitment distinguishes Techless in a market frequently criticized for its planned obsolescence and excessive e-waste, which pose significant environmental challenges. This approach underscores our dedication to prioritizing consumer needs over corporate profit. Techless captures value through recurring all-in subscription plans that offer regular software updates and cellular services. Our plans ensure our products remain useful and up-to-date without the need for frequent hardware replacements, ensuring a steady revenue stream and enhancing customer loyalty. Our carrier plans are specifically designed for the Wisephone II, with three distinct tiers. Each tier is affordable, flexible, and customizable, tailored to meet the diverse needs and lifestyles of our consumers.Note: Projections not guaranteedFollowing the success of Wisephone I and the highly anticipated launch of Wisephone II, our sales are projected to skyrocket, propelling our revenue to over $84 million ARR in 3 years. Techless is emerging as a household name in the redefined tech landscape.Note: Projections not guaranteedWe’re raising capital to bring the Wisephone II to market, spearheading the healthy tech movement.Note: future milestones are not guaranteed.Techless is on a mission to transform the way people interact with the digital world, making mental health-friendly technology accessible wherever devices are sold.In an era where big tech companies wield unprecedented influence over daily life, Techless is dedicated to helping our users reclaim their attention, prioritize their wellbeing, and rediscover the joys of life beyond the screen.Invest today to bring Wisephone to the mass market and usher in an era of healthy tech. ## Q&A
- Q: Hi Christopher, With the Light Phone III coming out soon how does the Wisephone II compare? What is Techless' competitive advantage(s) over Light Phone. Thank you, Glenn
 - A: Great question. At the fundamental level, Light Phone is geared toward digital minimalists, and Wisephone is creating a new category of “healthy” phones. This sounds like a small difference, but the consequences are huge. The number of individuals who are willing to take on the inconvenience of a minimalist phone is much smaller…putting minimalist phones into a niche product category. We’re going after soccer moms, working professionals and aspirational minimalists and want to put something in their hands that they’ll actually use. We did an intensive 4 month market research project and created the tool drawer based off today’s requests. Wisephone values your time and attention while gives you intentional access to helpful tools.
- Q: How are customers currently acquired? What is the customer acquisition cost?
 - A: Hey Ben, appreciate the question. 1) We have a humongous amount of organic traffic. I speak regularly and have a steady stream of press & podcast requests (I just wrapped one yesterday). To get a clear sense of how strong our organic pull is, we cut off ad spend entirely for a few months - surprise! we were very level at 60K/monthly revenue. Moms telling moms = free CAC. 40K unique monthly visitors to our site...a lot of direct search for Wisephone & Techless. This is HUGE, sticky, long-lasting, and extremely hard to replicate. 2) For non-organic CAC, we currently run ads on Google search & Youtube. We've toyed around with other platforms, and have a very unique strategy to hit some alternative religious communities that have very little online presence. Last two weeks of ad performance: $42 and $100 Cost of acquisition! This is extremely efficient for a $400 product with $1000 LTV. FYI, we hold an internal hurdle for $150 CAC before we bump up our ad spend. We chose this number because it ensures we at least ensure a small profit on device sales and then monetize our recurring revenue (already $300K in recurring revenue pent up once we ship). We've run margin (including CAC & COGS) of 58% historically, but when we're in growth mode, shooting for market share, we are fine making margin exclusively on subscription revenue.
- Q: This is a huge problem for our society - I see it in myself and my kids, so thankful for anyone trying to help. You are pushing back against trillions of dollars in spending over the last decade+. In musing whether to (a) buy a Wisephones and/or (b) invest, my main concern is the compatibility. There are a vast range of services we need to be able to use which is why, as you say, the dumb phone option isn't viable. That includes apps for home automation (Ring etc), banking/payment (Venmo etc.), travel (Uber)... I would love to be able to ditch my iPhone with all the distractions, but there are so many of these necessary apps. The list changes over time, with some apps I only need to use very occasionally but some daily. From what I read, you are individually approving only a small number - why is this the right approach, rather than say access to much of the Android app store, say bar games and social media?
 - A: Thanks Ian, I think you nailed where we’re going! At the moment of this reply, we’ve launched the tool drawer, added around 25 tools and have over 300 in que to review ;).
- Q: I have a few questions about your business model that I'd like addressing. 1) It seems to me that the business model you are operating with is a carbon copy of what Light has been doing, only you guys are doing it with smartphones? I don't see the unique value proposition of the device. 2) You're selling a smartphone for $400 when there are many others like Samsung, Motorola, Umidigi, and other brands who have basically the same phone features on phones anywhere between $150-400 with no subscription model needed. 3) Why make a smartphone that needs a monthly subscription with sub-par carrier services in order to use the basic features of the phone too? Any consumer could easily buy a phone from a major smartphone maker and then just use an NVMO on their own with better call-text-data options at a cheaper price. Additionally those same customers can easily then buy a launcher on the Play Store that does close to what your OS does. 4) I noticed on the website that you guys are not being transparent with who your carrier is, citing "confidentiality agreements". My concern is that by not sharing who your provider of services is, consumers could be buying a phone in which may not get carrier service in their area.
 - A: Tristin, thanks for the questions/comments. 1) There are some humongous differences between Light Phone & Wisephone. If you want to dive in, check out this 3rd party review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBRS7y2mY2A&t=20s You can also check out this page on our site: https://techless.com/pages/wisephone-vs-lightphone A couple other thoughts: -E-ink is nice in theory, but painful in real life. -We have advanced software that would be impossible to run on Light Phone hardware. In short. -Original Wisephone was a minimalist device (like Light Phone). We spoke to hundreds of users who said "I love the idea of Wisephone, but I NEED _____app." We understand clearly there is a huge group of people who can't commit to a full-on minimalist device, but want something healthy. Wisephone II is meeting that need in a way no other minimalist phone can. 2) Our device is quality hardware. We basically breakeven on device sales. These phones monetize your attention...we don't. You can watch shows with ads, or you can pay a premium to avoid ads. Your life, your choice. We like the "above-the table" approach to monetization, rather than sneakily selling your data. We have a surprising number of licencing fees, API calls, integrations etc.that are paid out of subscription revenue. 3) Some people feel like they can lock down a smartphone. With some hacky setups, you could get close, but we spent 5 years and built an OS and 9 independent apps to push from "close" to "trustworthy." Good luck removing the Google Search bar from and Adroid or handing a "locked down" iPhone to a kid. Long-term, restrictions to support digital health have proved minimally supported by Big Tech, buggy and ineffective for the type of life-changing systems people are hungry for. There are vulnerabilities and user-exploitation practices on devices all the way down to the manufacturer level. If this wasn't the case, we would have launched a software only solution - MUCH simpler. We had to go direct to manufacturer to remove these exploits and maintain trust our brand is so proud of. 4) We legally cannot share who our carrier is. This is standard practice industry-wide...enforced by the "big 3" who own all cellular networks. We do provide services from a top 3 carrier in the nation. We do have a device coverage map that is accurate. We are more than reasonable around returns if things aren't working out well for an individual - we have a 99.97% customer satisfaction rate. Thanks for the questions! Hopefully this helps you understand a bit more why our current investors are super excited about this next season for Techless. We'd love to have you on board.
- Q: Hi Christopher, will the wisephone II be able to give me access to email, Bluetooth, Spotify, and the Tesla app? What about Uber/Lyft as well? Thank you, Glenn

- Q: At the top of the page, it discusses a $10 million revenue goal in 3 years projections. In the lower part of the overview, it says $84 million in 3 years.
- Q: Hi. Is Jonathan mesh still involved in Techless and/or is he an equity holder? Was Techless acquired by current management in an acquisition? When did Wes Lyons with Eagle invest the $600k? Is waleed Yasin a full time employee? Doesn’t appear as such on LinkedIn. How has the launch of Wisephone 2 been going? Can you provide monthly sales numbers? Considering investing so if you can answer today would be great. Thanks
- Q: What's the valuation for this round?
 - A: $10.4M
- Q: What's the valuation cap for this round?
 - A: $10.4 M
- Q: Hey there, can you explain why the Wisephone 2 is being shipped to people but they are receiving a Samsung Galaxy A15? Nowhere in your website does it state this and could be leading people to purchase a phone for $400 that is only $150 in reality. Also another concern I have is the mass exodus over the last year or 2 years where Techless now has no customer support staff, no COO, CMO, no technology officer, among other positions.
 - A: Hey Tristan…we’ve gone above and beyond to clearly communicate the decision to partner with Samsung on hardware. The reasons behind this transition and process were very clearly communicated to all pre-order customers by email and multiple posts on our site. You can read a bit more here. We have 2 full time, in house customer support staff members that are still receiving a 99% customer satisfaction rating - this is better than any company in the industry that I’m aware of. Our Net Promoter Score is still hovering at 60-65 - better than Apple, Google & Chick-Fil-A and our BBB rating is A+. We have a world-class leadership team that all have led enterprises much larger than Techless, but possibly using different titles than what you are expecting: Director of Operations (COO) was the Manager of a $250M company, our Chief Product Officer (tech officer) has lead software teams building projects that have over 1B+ cumulative users, our director of Growth (CMO) has a 20 year e-commerce career.
- Q: Good evening, please would you be so kind to let me know what is the price per share in this round? Thank you
 - A: Hi Carolota, thank you for your question. $1.20 per share
- Q: Hi Team, What do you see the implications of Australia's news re limiting kids access to smartphones? Will this spread globally - surely this could be a tailwind for Techless? Thanks.
 - A: We are thrilled at the mindfulness that is being brought to the addiction and overuse of smartphones. The good news is we provide a healthy option with Wisephone II.
- Q: How do I get 50% discount in the order as I have invested $1000
 - A: Hi Uday, Customer Service is happy to help get this to you. Simply email hi@techless.com and they will help you with next steps. Thank you!
- Q: I’m following up to my previous question. Post raise communication is important to investors and we would appreciate understanding your plans and perspective. Thank you.
 - A: Hi Erik, thanks for your message! We've been busy fulfilling and shipping preorders and have been posting as we can! Feel free to check out our updates on the wefunder page, as well as our website for latest updates and tidbits of information.
- Q: @christopher-kaspar, I can see Wisephone helping people that want this type of technology or those that prefer simple technology. The challenge, in my opinion, is converting adults and children addicted to smartphones?
 - A: Thanks for your message! Wisephone II has a tool drawer that helps those that need some of those helpful tools that technology offers, but doesn't have the addictive solo media apps. I encourage you to check it out!
