## FAQ
1. **As someone who cares about the environment, my family is aware of the substantial waste of water producing "fast fashion" jeans produces. Because of this, along with many of the issues you are addressing, we no longer purchase jeans. We are excited about your idea, and want to...**
 - Hi Daniel, This is a fantastic question and I truly appreciate the fact that in the past you've elected not to buy jeans as a result of water consumption. The manufacturing facility that we will be producing at is an entirely vertical operation - the cotton is grown on-site, processed on-site, turned into workable fabric on-site, dyed on-site, and finally stitched on-site. Our cotton is certified organic and raised without pesticides, grown in one of the rainiest regions on earth (drastically...
2. **If we invest in a high tier (i.e 1k+) do we receive the lower tier perks as well?**
 - Hi Armando - Thanks for reaching out both here and on Instagram. I'm just answering here in case others have the same question. Also a sincere thank you for your choice to invest in our project! Yes! All of the perks "stack" so with every tier higher you earn the subsequent rewards. Thank you again!
3. **Hi! Love what you guys are doing and am interested in investing. In addition to the environmental issues with fast fashion, I find the labor issues in fast fashion appalling. What steps will you be taking to ensure the people who are harvesting the raw materials and creating t...**
 - Hi Ashlee, We are manufacturing our Jeans in Italy, where there are some of the strictest labor standards on Earth. Our manufacturing facility is double certified, insured, and regularly audited. We receive those audits prior to every manufacturing run and they are verified by an independent 3rd party in order to ensure we are not only meeting standards but exceeding them, In regards to the cotton itself, we do not contract any raw material harvesters so we do not oversee those operations, ho...
4. **It says you have only a 6x increased size set, and using an AI to match (why you are telling me it is an AI itself is a red flag, but let's move on). That's an incredibly small set of sizes. So this isn't about customization at all right? It's only about increased flexibility....**
 - Hi Warren, thanks for your question, I appreciate it. We've analyzed about 4000 size sets from some of the biggest producers in the world in order to come up with the 250-300 sizes that are attributed to almost 98% of all online jeans orders. By going directly to the manufacturers who are producing over 10,000,000 units per year, we have been able to analyze industry-wide ratios and size sets to figure out where exactly people are falling through the cracks. The standard size set has about 40...
5. **Hi Kristian, can you tell me what price range you're targeting for the jeans. Range is fine, just want to get a sense of how affordable the jeans are so I understand your target market a bit more before I invest.**
 - Hi Jen - Absolutely. We had been holding out on a price point while working through the multitude of factors that affect the pricing of the product, such as where we were going to manufacture, the price of material, the general price of cotton, labor costs as a result of COVID related shortages, etc. We've come to the conclusion that we will be manufacturing the Jeans in Italy, using AAA Italian Denim, the same tier of quality that many luxury brands use in their $400-1000 jeans. We chose Ita...

## Q&A
- Q: How much future equity does an investment get? Like what percentage of future equity will I get if I invest $1000?
- Q: The website currently promises a 30-day turnaround timeframe. How many customers have successfully received the products they ordered from your company within this timeframe since launch?
- Q: Were investors entitled to a pair of jeans? The computer I was using just went down and I am not able to find previous emails to verify on my own.
- Q: Idk if my question posted so here goes possibly again. I invested in the beginning, does that count toward this? I like what you're doing here but I have some noted on the jeans I bought already.
 - A: Hi Melissa - Your first investment is safe and sound, and any outstanding investment perks that have not been redeemed are still valid. This is simply a second round, which is an opportunity for us to raise some additional money to put towards the project and work towards our new goals. If you would like an additional stake in the company and to have access to our perks that come with with this round, then feel free to place an additional investment you're comfortable with. But there is no obligation to invest, and no relation to your first investment, you'd simply be "buying" more shares in slø. Thanks for the question and if that doesn't answer it, please feel free to reach out to me at kristian@slojeans.co
- Q: I'm a big advocate for sustainable fashion. I am currently studying the effects of climate change and possible mitigation efforts, specifically around carbon emissions. I am curious how your company plans to handle sustainability when it comes to energy consumption and carbon emissions, especially concerning transportation. I would love to know the details throughout the entire jeans process!
 - A: Hi Catalina - Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, and inherently what slow fashion is all about. I'll try and give you a high-level overview of each of our various pillars, and I'll also include a link to a deck that talks about our impact initiatives and future plans. First and foremost by the very nature of our made-to-order model, we're immediately more sustainable than any of the world's fast fashion brands. Fast fashion thrives on mass standardization and mass manufacturing, meaning they produce tens of thousands of units at a time and very rarely ever sell that collection, meaning thousands of perfectly good garments end up going unsold and end up being destroyed or thrown in a landfill. It doesn't matter if a brand is using the best materials or even compliant labor if they dispose of thousands of pieces in every collection. At slø, we maintain an incredibly low number of stock pieces, and create every piece to order, meaning we never overproduce. In addition, because we're working with such a large size set, our return rate is substantially lower. Fast fashion brands experience return rates as high at 60%! We've never had a collection over a 5% return rate. In summary - we produce less garments, they end up being returned substantially less often, and we are not mass disposing of unsold goods because of purposeful manufacturing. In regards to transport, by shipping direct to consumer, we cut out 3 different logistics stages from the existing fashion model. The existing model looks something like this. Start: Production facility (usually in a place like Bangladesh, Pakistan, China, etc) -> Pallets of goods are flown or put on a boat to a distribution center (Big emissions) -> Distribution center takes that mass order, splits it up into dozens (up to hundreds) of local orders (100-5000 pieces each) Hundreds of boxes then ship to various parts of the world - Huge emissions -> those freight shipments go onwards to a local distribution center where they are broken down again into 100-200 unit orders for the local stores depending on sell through % -> delivered by truck to the stores finally. This is a pretty standard retail model, and can include extra steps for things like eCommerce fulfillment centers, or additional steps depending on the size of local markets. Our model: Jeans are created -> Sent to customer via courier from the fulfillment center within the factory We prioritize using couriers that prioritize sustainable practices, the majority of our packages end up on standard routes, with last mile delivery being done by post offices. It's currently the best option possible when it comes to sustainability and efficiency. In the future, if a better system comes to light, we will certainly look to make improvements. Furthermore, on the product level, every detail is taken into consideration. Fabrics are certified and traceable, metal is certified, reclaimed, and made at a fantastic facility, we do not use real leather or harmful materials. Our washing process uses substantially less water than our competitors thanks to some very technologically advanced laundry facilities here in Istanbul that employ tools like oZone and laser washes to cut down on chemicals and consumption. I could go on and on, and I'm happy to, so feel free to follow up if you have any additional questions, I'm also attaching a link below to our working impact deck, which gives an overview of our impact projects and future goals. https://www.canva.com/design/DAGHQ3xUn3E/TU7MWixt-ZIfzTh9bjejKQ/view?utm_content=DAGHQ3xUn3E&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=editor Thanks for your question and I appreciate your interest in slø and your concern for our planet.
- Q: I went to your site. It looks like you're not currently taking orders, correct? Your 2022 revenue was $348,391 and 2023 revenue was $528,969. Yet your highlights say, "SALES - $1,100,000+ in sales in the first 14 months." What happened to the growth and when is the plan to start taking orders again?
 - A: Hi LD - Great questions. Year to Date we have done ~$300k over a series of small launches early in the year. We slowed growth to ensure we can meet production timelines, and optimize our tech underbelly to prepare for better scale in the fall. The velocity of our initial launches created logistics and manufacturing problems, and we want to have those 100% solved before opening back up to the public. In addition, we paused production to begin our factory expansion. Summer isn't typically a great time in the denim market, so we planned to use the time to gear up for our biggest season - the Fall and solve any outstanding problems. We're currently trialing a new manufacturing system to cut lead times down to about 14 days. We have a series of private launches planned through August and September to receive feedback on product and experience changes from investors and early users. (If you join us as an investor you'd be invited to join those private launches between now and October) Mid-October we will re-launch with our biggest release yet. New collection, product, website experience, manufacturing, timeline, media, Order management system, customizations, and more. While projections can obviously never be guaranteed, we are projecting $2.5-3.0m in Revenue in 2024 as a result of the increased capacity, significantly faster lead times, and go-to-market strategy we have planned down to the minute. A pause was incredibly necessary to analyze, understand, and solve the foundational problems that were creating manufacturing problems, as well as expand our capacity to be able to keep up with demand when we are live. We're advocates for sustainable growth, not cancerous growth, especially as we're pioneering in a very new space in manufacturing with no blue print. I hope that helps to answer your question, if not, please feel free to reach out to me at any time at kristian@slojeans.co
- Q: In you e-mail you wrote: --- I'd like to humbly ask if you'd consider investing $100 in out project through WeFounder. In return, we'll make you a pair of our V6 jeans at an exclusive upcoming launch, give you 100 shares in out company, a stock certificate, pin, patch, and personalized garment bag, and provide you with a 20% lifetime discount on all slø products. --- But here it says: --- Earn perks when you invest $150: Your name on the wall of our new factory. $250: A redeemable code for a pair of jeans. $500: Two pairs of Jeans (total) + Groovy T-shirt. ... --- I do not see on this site that $100 would get me "a pair of our V6 jeans", or most of the other perks mentioned in the e-mail. Did you change your minds, or is that the $250 investment now?
 - A: Hello Alice - As mentioned in that e-mail that is a perk we are offering privately to long-term members of our community. They are improved terms as a thank you for the support since day one of our project. They are not listed publically on Wefunder as they are not available to everybody, we have a record of every person who invests and every person we have sent the offer to. Upon completion of the investment round, we will send an e-mail with the additional perks and privileges. If you have received that e-mail, then yes "any" investment (even a $100 investment) will yield you a pair of jeans and other perks such as the lifetime discount. A second pair does begin at $500 (our goal was to lower the barrier to entry for the first pair and provide other great perks for being a long-time member of our project.) We would love to have been able to offer this to everybody, but unfortunately, we cannot at this time without giving up too much margin, which is why publically on Wefunder the perks for jeans begin at $250, and privately we have offered improved terms. Hope this helps Kristian
- Q: Hi! I invested about a month ago, and I was wondering where we could access the private social media page for investor updates? I couldn't find it connected to your TikTok or discord. Thank you and keep up the good work!
- Q: I want to invest but I like in the UK
 - A: Hi Emily - We have almost 50 investors from the UK now! You're able to invest as an international investor should you still be interested! Thanks for your consideration!
- Q: Your process seems to be very labor intensive. Give the volume of jeans you are hoping to sell for profitability, what are your plans to meet demand both market demand and for the labor needed for production?
 - A: Hi Daniel - our process is no more labor-intensive than any clothing collection, rather than ordering from say 40 different sizes, we have just expanded that size set, the construction of the garment is no different and the manufacturing facilities we are working with have handled this kind of demand for brands such as Gucci, Prada, Sons of Shibuya, Etc. Our manufacturing facility in Italy has a capacity of almost 250,000 pairs per month, and over the coming months, we plan on creating 3 varients at 3 different price points using other facilities in different regions as well. For example, a manufacturing facility in Turkey that will allow us to offer an option in the $70 range, a facility in India that will allow us to offer an option at the $50 range, etc. We have spent the last 3 months planning ahead in order to hyper-scale to have a volume capacity of 500,000+ pairs per month within the first 6-8 months and are currently building and stress testing both our technological backend and our logistics operations to ensure we can meet demand. With every sales cycle, the timeline and efficiency will increase. For the first launch we are estimating a 5-6 week delivery window, but by launch 3 we believe we will be able to have this down to about 3 weeks, by this time next year we hope to have it down to about 15 days. With scale will come optimization and efficiency through data, as the system I have designed improves with scale rather than slows down. Thanks for your question and if you have any further questions or follow-ups feel free to reach out at kristian@slojeans.co or leave another question here!
- Q: Hi! I am enthusiastic about the thoughtfulness of the company’s operations as explained in the Q&A. The web presentation does not mention whether or not the ”fist of its kind sizing system” is a proprietary algorithm, and whether or not it is protected by patents? Also, is the AI and ML owned or leased by the company?
 - A: Hi Bradford - the system is not currently protected by patents, we have had numerous calls with intellectual property lawyers now about ways we can protect our IP on both the front end and back end of production but have not been awarded our patents yet. Our sizing system is not used by any other brand and the process in which we collect and match sizes to users is protectable under intellectual property laws. We are leasing software that allows us to collect our sizing information via a smartphone camera, but the programs that process and learn from this data are proprietary and built in-house. Thanks for your question and if you have any further questions or concerns please let me know :)
- Q: How long has the management team been in the business?
 - A: Hi Ryan - Our Management team has a significant amount of valuable experience in Fashion, eCommerce, and Social Media, however as a young company (every member of our team is under the age of 25) one of the first things we are looking to address with our first round of hires is bringing more experience into the team. What we lack in literal years on a resumê I feel we make up for with the value of our experience in "tossed in the deep end style" past-start ups, however, I do completely understand the value of time and with that, we will be looking to bring in some proven professionals in operations, logistics, and project management to ensure we have an incredibly solid foundation for hyper scaling. I strongly believe in our team and our ability to develop and launch this project, but I openly admit that we're mostly a team of creatives and idea people right now and one of the first things we are looking to bring together is a team of execution-orientated people. We have a massive pipeline of ideas, creativity, and out-of-the-box ideas and with every pair of jeans sold, we will continue to bring together the team we need to scale this into the $100m company I know we can be. Thanks for your question, Kristian
- Q: What's your rev growth and plan for profitability?
 - A: Hi Ryan - We are pre-revenue so we don't have a Revenue Growth figure as of yet. I would need a more specific question regarding the plan for profitability? Are you interested in our margins? Our Burn rate? Our timeline for profit? Etc. As a pre-order business and with over 50,000 people on our waitlist we will be profitable from the first launch, so if your question is regarding a timeline, we will see profit in the first 30-60 days post launch. If you have any specific questions regarding any of the above please don't hesitate to reach out! Kristian
- Q: Hello! First, thank you for starting this company and this movement! Second, I'm trying to finalize my investment, but it's not allowing me to, stating my location isn't supported. I reside in Quebec, Canada. Is this a country restriction or a provincial restriction? Thank you!
 - A: Hi Amanda - first off thank you very much for trying to finalize your investment! Unfortunately at this time, the province of Quebec does not allow regulation crowdfunding. We're looking into options for our Quebec friends and we will update you via e-mail in the near future! Thanks again and my apologies.
- Q: Hi Kristian, can you tell me what price range you're targeting for the jeans. Range is fine, just want to get a sense of how affordable the jeans are so I understand your target market a bit more before I invest.
 - A: Hi Jen - Absolutely. We chose Italy due to their extremely high labor standards, their very high sustainability standards, the consistent audits that manufacturers have to go through to maintain their certifications, and the access to the EU market (which is one of our most in-demand markets) As a result, our costs are higher than a Fast Fashion company that produces in a developing country, but through supply chain optimization, great relationships with our manufacturers, and volume, we have managed to create a solid margin and still have the product affordable enough for the mass market. We will be selling our Jeans at Under $90/pair with numerous payment options available to split up the cost into multiple interest-free payments for people who aren't used to paying this much for jeans. One of our other goals in near subsequent launches is to create multiple tiers of quality by utilizing different fabrics and manufacturing facilities in other countries, so we can have a $90 Jean, a $60-70 option, and a $40-50 option that all utilize the same sizing system and come with the same value proposition as our original Slø Jean. If you want to learn more in Video format - I just released a Tik-Tok on this topic yesterday! Thanks for your question and consideration in our company! Kristian Hansen
